teblin
Nothing is ever finished and I always find something I can improve, so until I'm eventually satisfied in the future these will be counted as unfinished (some of them obviously are, even to a non-warhammer player). I feel it's not going too badly. I started building and painting for the first time just over a month ago, and recently I thought I'd try and be a bit more original with my creations. Of course, nothing is perfect, and in some cases you may think this stuff is very poorly done, but it's still early days and I'm pretty pleased so far. There are some very obvious mistakes and inconsistencies in the following images, but I haven't got around to touching the problems up yet. I apologise. I have created a squad of Assault Terminators, under the guise of them being Armageddon Veterans. So, I represented this with a red-striped banner, and a lot of white and red colours on the storm shields. I also weathered heavily to represent the ferocious fighting. This is my standard-bearer: http://i47.tinypic.com/2v1anfb.jpg Another Armageddon vet, this Sword Brother has just struck down an Ork with a Thunder Hammer blow, severing his arms. A chain-choppa is wedged into the shield, the Ork having made a futile attempt to kill the brother shortly before being struck down: http://i45.tinypic.com/cku2c.jpg The shield colouration and heraldry so far: http://i45.tinypic.com/ra3ukp.jpg My EC with two swords. I originally had the end of the hilt glued to the inside of his fist, but it came off very easily, so I have to settle with this for now: http://i46.tinypic.com/2wn7dyg.jpg Marshal with Power axe and Claw. Last touched this this about 2 weeks ago, plan on adjusting the weapon options: http://i46.tinypic.com/24xh1eo.jpg Finally, possibly the feat I am most proud of so far. This is a converted AoBR Captain. In his left hand is a Dreadnought sarcophagus front plate converted into a Storm Shield: http://i45.tinypic.com/23tfifs.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/263936-novice-painters-efforts-black-templars/ Share on other sites
Scriptor Tharxes
Nice start and a good choice of chapter. :D You should get some Wash or its called Shade now and "wash" your minis completely. You can take some paint in thin it down to the consistency of dirty water, it will have the same effect. It will bring a nice effect without any effort. Its simple and easy and does help much.
