Thunder_god
Hi all. here are a few pictures of the first test mini for my Space Wolves army. I'm shooting for the Heresy era flavor, real viking in space kind of look. Inspiration was drawn from the conversion piece on the Space Wolves Blog. Here's my first effort: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/wrnjr/3BB3B100-924B-4E6D-888D-7AA29AE157E9-176-0000009DCF361857.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/wrnjr/6E7BB284-16B1-40F2-A79B-C95C5C449916-176-0000009DC77F73E2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/wrnjr/39F993D6-23DA-4881-BC37-3080F9FC015E-176-0000009DC0D3CDDB.jpg The torso & helm are from the Chaos Warriors box, the legs are Mk.III legs from Forge World. The helm is an ad-hoc conversion of the Chaos Warriors helm. I'm getting some Mk.II & III helms from bitz sellers on ebay, but lopping off the horns & adding a disk of plastic card doesn't look too bad for a very archaic helm. Backpack will be added from the current Space Wolves set in time. Here is the test paint scheme for my army: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/wrnjr/E10A7327-5E8C-4F30-8F92-B83AABD95394-309-0000001BCD539849.jpg The base is Tamiya XF24 Dark Grey airbrushed on, followed by a wash of Nuln Oil & successive dry brushes of Vallejo Nuetral Gray & Light Gray. The rest is done in various Citadel, Vallejo, & Reaper colors. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/wrnjr/C5D80BDE-3AF5-4CB6-84A4-F53EBCC047A7-309-0000001B3AD20356.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/wrnjr/8E66B62B-16EF-4348-8DF1-BEF515D06C50-309-0000001B40A149F9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v424/wrnjr/90C0CBA2-72CC-4590-AB4E-B572D7B34C84-309-0000002FA11D6326.jpg Let me know what you think.
