Glory to the Eight Fold Path!

Two years ago this week my Chaos marine army that I had been working on for 2 years was completed. It was glorious for exactly 2 games, cause the army was stolen outta my car. The 40k Blog and Podcast community was incredible to me; within a week I had people donate enough models to replace what I had lost miniatures wise in the theft. Within a month I had 90% of it on hand to begin rebuilding.

That took some of the sting out of the loss, I tried to rebuild; really hard in fact, but it was kind of soul crushing to have to redo all that hard work modeling and painting exactly what I had basically just finished. So after many false starts and many commission paint jobs, I decided to just wait until the new codex arrived.

It is here now and I am inspired and actually excited to start painting my Soul Reapers once again. So I thought I would share the journey on my favorite forum, that I unfortunately been AWOL from forever.

Here are some of the models that either survived the theft by not being in my min-cases or that I have done/started since.

Thanks for the support guys!

This afternoon I will be starting the Sorcerer with the enforcer head. I decided to swap out the bolt pistol for a sword and it looks pretty schweet.

Thanks again for the added support, I appreciate it.

Here is some progress on the Sorcerer from last night.

Hopefully I can finish him up tonight, if not tomorrow for sure.

Thanks dude, it is good to be inspired and back! Yeah, luckily I still have the Daemon Prince, but the Warlord went with the army, by then he had a new scythe blade for his daemon weapon. Although the new version is gonna be even more epic, including the original scythe! It is a conversion based on the FW Lord Zhufor model!

Here is a mock up, not certain if this will be the final pose or not yet.

Great to see you back on here Megalodon! :P

I had no idea about your army theft, what an absolute downer, I'd be beyond gutted if it happened to me. But I'm glad to see you've decided to rebuild your Soul Reapers - they were one of the armies that I took a great deal of inspiration from when I was starting to work on my Legion of Taurus Chaos Space Marine army.

Good to see you plogging on here again, I'm really looking forward to seeing you rebuild your army! :tu:

Thanks guys!

Firestorm losing the army was rough for sure. I remember your army very well and the inspiration went both ways! The main problem I am having right now, is deciding on what I want to work on, I have so many cool looking units sitting here screaming for paint!

I missed that beginning part of your post. I feel your loss. Two years ago my car was stolen with my army in the trunk. I've still not replaced all my losses yet. I'm glad you've started to rebuild. I'll be following your rebuild more closely.
