sword brethren Posted October 27, 2012 Share Posted October 27, 2012 Hello brothers and sisters i require assistance for a character for the Black Crusade RPG. i have done D&D before and Deathwatch before so the RPG element is not the problem at the moment, i need help with name ideas and some opinions on some modelling choices. so wothout further ado, here is me (sort of) so he is a demo-man/elite specialist sort of guy as far as fluff is concerned and is armed with a meltagun. the problem i had is the lack of a melta gun in my bitzbox, so i improvised... the only problem is i dont know which i want to use, my preference is the auto cannon but i wanted the B&C's thoughts on the matter. additionally i'm struggling with a name i will be able to put up with for a while that i have not used in my IW army already. so once thats sorted and the barrel is chosen painting can begin! shiningstorm101 Posted October 27, 2012 Share Posted October 27, 2012 i like it, personally i would choose the autocannon barrel, the vents in the barrel finish it off, that of the first one if you can make vents in it, the last one looks to much like a gun barrel to fit the melta style, its to thin. out of curiosity what parts did you use for the melta, it looks very convincing so far. also i would like to hear the characters fluffy stuff if you have some, that and a battle report for your first game, im curious what its like. edit also some names for iron warriors? its sort of germanic isn't it? so maybe.... zergehen Bruch stapfen or actual names Diedrich? im not sure, for that sort of thing i would type seigey words into translator for a second names and then look for a germanic first name (not sure if iron warriors are Germanic sounding, i thought they were though.) Great conversion by the way ;) As for the name, I find Russian names or the antagonists from Greek or Roman myth tend to work well for Iron Warriors. But maybe turn it around so that the sidevents are closer to the end of the barrel rather than the body of the gun? As for names, I like shiningstorm's suggestion "Bruch". Sebastian (Bastian) Krul, a member of the assault teams tasked with breaching the inner sanctums of the Emperors palace during the siege of terra. When the forces of chaos were driven back from Earth, Krul's squad (led by a champion known as Ferrox Kreige) was split up and forced to find alternative escape routes from the battle. Krul and 6 other members of his squad were forced to escape on The Shout of Triumph, a Word Bearers battle cruiser. Krul and a group of other non-Word Bearers survivors were grouped together into a 15 man squad and agreed to join the Word Bearers for an indefinite amount of time until they could regroup with their legion. after a number years of combat under the Word Bearers (distorted by the confusion and malice of the warp) an arrangement had been made to return the 15 Legionnaires home, but despite their silver tongue the Dark Apostles of the Word Bearers were not to keep their word. during the last planned operation before being returned to their legions, Krul's group was betrayed by the Word Bearers and slaughtered during their covert operations. Krul and one other survived, both planned vengeance and escaped to their respective legions in secret using Rogue Traders, Pirates and Renegades to transport them. Kruls journey back to Kreige's command (where he currently leads a squad of chosen) was a long and arduous one, in the company of the galaxy's criminals and filth. i really enjoyed making him and the fluff that went with him so i may make the rest of his squad at some point, it may be a while though. thanks for the advise for names and stuff, i took it into account and it helped a lot :P (especially the Germanic thing) SB Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sword brethren Posted October 30, 2012 Author Share Posted October 30, 2012 I figured that this would be a wasted thread if i just left it soooo i'm going to add the rest of the chosen squad ill be using for table top games and other characters from the RPG games. so first we have Krul again but in improvised Hive Gang Armour, you gotta blend in somehow, Astartes power armour is noticeable a size comparison with him in power armour and the begginings of the rest of Krul's Chosen (not for RPG purposes). Rurik Toresso Diedric Bruch more chosen and more story and character updates from the black crusade in the next couple of weeks :P Adios brothers and sisters SB Edit: just realised how poor the krul pictures are, cannot get any that do it justice. bit annoyed about that really, the comparison picture is the only one close. How is the RPG campaign going? thanks:) unfortunately we have not had a chance to start it yet as the game master has been rather ill. i can't wait personally, that's why I'm making the rest of the chosen while i wait, i have bits in front of me and I'm thinking about a champion.
