DannyJZuko
Here is my first ever squad of Ultramarines. The concept for my army is based off of Space Marine artwork and the idea that every marine is a unique individual. I don't want a single model in my army to look like another. For my scouts, I really wanted them to look utilitarian. They should be self-sufficiant stalkers that can be left behind enemy lines for months at a time. I hope you enjoy these and all comments, criticisms, and concerns are welcome! Thanks, y'all! http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac126/DannyJZuko/Scouts.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/264503-ultramarine-scouts/ Share on other sites
Brother Sgt. Steine
Not too bad man. Nice grouping of Ultra scouts. Are you freehanding most of your heraldy and markings? I also like the continuity with your bases... Information is Victory. The Colossus
I like them, some of the best ultra scouts ive seen. My only gripe is that the feet are hard to distinguish from the base. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/264503-ultramarine-scouts/#findComment-3223099 Share on other sites

DannyJZuko
Thanks everyone! BSS - Yes, I freehanded all of the iconography. I like to imagine the soldiers all paint their armor themselves and therefore each symbol is a touch different. Colossus - Thanks! I never really tried basing anything before, so I am still trying to master the look of troops that have been walking through dirt and dust. Schultzhoffen - Thanks. A lot of it actually comes from IG kits. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/264503-ultramarine-scouts/#findComment-3224373 Share on other sites
TennisBall
I agree with the feet comment. It's not that the feet are too covered in whatever they're walking through, it's that the rest of them are so clean that it looks wrong. There either needs to be more "dirt" on the rest of them or less on the boots. Rest looks great and nice addition with the med pack. The Colossus
The feet just need to be defined from the base. Potentially a slightly different shade of grey, or maybe give it a bit of a brown tint. Feet notwithstanding, I wish I could paint as well as you can, I'd be proud to own that unit!
