Working on grey knights and my exorcists (black templars but you know what ever) got a bit tedious. So I decided to try to integrate one of my favorite things with another. So I decided to start building marines based off of my favorite super heros. I figured it could be alot of fun throwing in random heros as HQ or elite choices in my other armies. I've been debating adding a big obnoxious American flag banner (since IMO all banners just draw major attention thus making them all a bit obnoxious) but I'm really not sure. I know the hammer isn't all that accurate but a brick on a stick is boring. tyranicalpuma Posted October 31, 2012 Author Share Posted October 31, 2012 Not much of an update but I was building a bit tonight and went with a pa marine for the hulk (once I get a box of assault terminators there will be a second hulk). I'm going with a tech marine/MotF for iron man but can't really work out a streamlined servo harness so he isn't all crazy bulky. Pictures tomorrow. tyranicalpuma Posted October 31, 2012 Author Share Posted October 31, 2012 I'm really glad you mentioned that Ego,upon further inspection of the hulk during breakfast, I realized that I defiantly need to use a sanguary guard torso. I'm also going to throw on some of the biggest shoulder pads I can find. Possibly the layered looking ones from the command squad sprue (I forget what mk they are). http://i.imgur.com/9u4Pm.jpg Since the hulk is a long time favorite of mine, I'm defiantly going to do him as a termie and a dreadnought since it would be awesome. Also, giant man as a dreadknight would be pretty amazing as well. I'm not completely sold on ironmans helmet. RipherChost Posted November 8, 2012 Share Posted November 8, 2012 Regarding Iron Man, I would drop the servo harness, change the helm and shoulder pad or make him into War Machine. For Iron Man I would maybe include a wingless sanguine angel jump pack and go for a sleek look... and you should make both of them :D But this is awesome, I have had simular thoughts running through my mind. So far I have only done a Bane. Avengers are high up on my list of to do characters and Hulk would be be great as a terminator or perhaps an iron clad dread. My one thing is I want to keep them wysiwyg and fairly accurate so I think unfortunately Mr. stark is going to have to be a bit bulked out. Now to put paint on them. The next batch still needs to be figured out but I have a few clues... 1. The worlds greatest detective (easy!) 2. The man without fear (again, easy) 3. Heros for hire (which one? Both? Current or 70's?) 4. SPOON! (how many 90's kids and older do we have out there?) Branching out from Marvel might just make this project even more fun.
