I've recently moved to Australia, which for someone into this hobby is a really stupid thing to do! Anyway, I've decided to resurrect an old project which has been in the back of my head for almost the entire time I've been involved with the hobby. Simple concept, an entirely Jump Pack or Airborne SM army using Falcon/Raptor imagery. I've only ever painted one model in my chosen scheme, but he was quite popular: http://s3.amazonaws.com/data.tumblr.com/tumblr_lurnkuycee1qd9z3no1_1280.jpg So I've decided to take the plunge and flesh the concept out a bit further. I did write an IA for the army a while back (IA: Falcon Guard) but for now I'm going to focus on the build/paint side of things. To that end here is my kick start for the new project, a SM Chaplain with Jump Pack: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcld63av7E1qd9z3no1_500.jpg He's taken a bit of patching up, but should be ready for paint soon. Aside from him I have two Assault Squads in the post, so plenty to be working on! Anyhow, hope you guys like where this is going and look forward to hearing what you think of the project/army. What especially strikes me is how you made the basecoat green so neatly fit in with the top layer green -> great work, man! ^_^ Really looking forward to seeing the entire squad done. Been experimenting tonight with using purple as a contrast to the green, including the bolt pistol casing. I'll load up a pic tomorrow so you can pass your verdict! WingsOfTheFalcon Posted January 13, 2013 Author Share Posted January 13, 2013 Hi, Yes, the first model was painted using the old paint range, this new one is done entirely in the new paints, so whilst I've not seen them side-by-side yet, I'm sure there will be a few differences in tone. I'm not sure if it will be possible to entirely replicate the colour of the first marine anymore since those paints are now discontinued.
