Kierdale
I was wondering how wide people build rivers as gaming terrain? I know it sounds like a 'how long is a piece of string?' type question, so let me explain a bit more... I'm planning to make the river a sectional overlay for putting on the table, each section 8" or a foot in length and I want them wide enough that an unlucky Difficult Terrain test will see you get only part way through, but not so wide that it bogs the game down. Also it'll provide a chance for Chimera to actually use that amphibiousness of theirs. So, I'm thinking 4" width obviously with some variation along the length. A ford, a wide section with a small island in the middle perhaps. And it gives me an excuse to build a bridge. Any thoughts or advice? Olis
Three or four inches sounds absolutely fine, I think. I suggest building it in sections of removable terrain so that you can add twisty bends and other various pieces of differing river features. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/264594-how-wide-is-your-river/#findComment-3224314 Share on other sites
Kierdale
Thank you Olisredan. I'm making the rivers simply from cut blue felt for starters. If we're happy with the size and how they affect the game then I'll make some proper templates with modelled riverbanks, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/264594-how-wide-is-your-river/#findComment-3234529 Share on other sites
