Added a Terminator with Combi Bolter & Veteran of the Long War - Heldrake Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company background - The Prometheus Crusade Iron is forever. From Iron cometh Strength. From Strength cometh Will. From Will cometh Faith From Faith cometh Honour From Honour cometh Iron This is the Unbreakable Litany. May it forever be so Dominum imperator ac ferrum aeturnum Prometheus was a world that was liberated by the Iron Warriors during the great crusade. The Imperial turned it into a Forge World to help supply the Imperial armies during the great crusade. Since then a millennium has passed and that time of the great crusade has become myth & legend. Now a Black Templar Crusade Force is stationed there, re-supplying for a crusade they planned to launch to the east of the Imperial border against a Xenos threat. Now a millennium after the Horus Heresy, when Battle Brother fought Battle Brother. the Iron Warriors have returned to take back Prometheus. Their aim is to turn the Forge World in to a place to create Daemonic Engines & weapons to help their Legion battle against the Imperial & anyone else who would stand in their way. After gaining a foot hold on the planet Warsmith Abhorred Riddick, the overall commander of the Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company, has ordered his protégé, Iron Captain Narach Delau, to go out & lead his company to attack the Ancient Forge Keep of the Mechanicus on Prometheus. The Forge Keep had been made by the Iron Warriors during the great crusade & it holds a relic of their Legions The Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company has been around since the Great Crusade, when gods walked among men & humanity was being reunited after the darkness of “old night”. The Iron Warriors along with the other Space Marine legions were hailed as heroes, until the Emperor betrayed them. The Iron Warriors along with seven other Space Marine legions took sides with Horus Lupercal & pledged their loyalty to the Chaos. This led to the Horus Heresy, where brother would fight brother. Since then, the Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company have fought in many wars & campaigns against the Imperial, other chaos legions & Xenos races. They fought along with their Primarch Perturabo during the Iron Cage. Throughout the 10th Black Crusade along with other Iron Warrior Grand Companies, the 5th Grand Company helped attack the Iron Hands Chapter on Medusa, the Iron Hands own home world. During the 13th Black Crusade the 5th Grand Company fought on the very ground of Cadian. There they honoured the chaos gods by building a great fortification on Kasr Sonnen. The optical zoom whirled on the auto-scope as Lord Narach looked into the gaping wound his siege engines had opened up in the Adeptus Mechanicus Forges’ flank. The same engines lay silent for some 40 metres to either side of him all but exhausted of ammunition. The trench made defences they nestled in and the reinforced command bunkers were impressive even to his well trained eye, but of course they would have been, having been constructed under his orders and supervision. Up the slope almost a mile distant the Forge Fortress billowed smoke from its breached side. From the rock-crete composition and architecture the Fortress, Narach had been tasked with grinding the defenders to dust in the name of Warsmith Abhorred Riddick. Half broken orders and weapons fire crackled through the comm’s when it managed anything more than white noise and static. The smoke screen of swirling white mist twisted and danced with the black smoke generated by the burning vehicles inside the breach. It obscured any attempt to discern anything of the assault; Narach cursed the human guard, Imperial Guards who fallen under the darkness of Chaos & now serve as fodder to the Iron Warriors. Had assured Narach, the winds would have picked up by now to clear the sight of the fighting. The fighting had been going on for almost 8 minutes now, too long without a clear signal. He hated not knowing. Narach scanned the smoke obscured breach again; the smoke was clearing now, if too slowly for his liking. A burning Rhino sprawled out of the smoke, its front hull section almost blown in two, a massive exit wound but relatively little entry damage, classic Lascannon round from the Black Templars. Coming apart in chunks of twisted metal as is smashed down the rocky slope. Through the mist of battle, Narach could see armoured shapes of his brother Iron Warriors moved like spectres in the swirling clouds of smoke as they pushed forward toward the Forge Keep. The scene reminded Narach of a moment during the siege. He’d pushed into the promenade of the first line of the defending walls, his battle brothers around him as they drove back the Imperial Fists from their defences guarding the gates inside the Imperial Palace. He emptied his combi-bolter into a wounded Imperial as he tried to limp through the gates. The armour around his leg cracked and he fell to the floor. Narach had charge, in a second plunging his serrated combat knife repeatedly into his neck. The sprays of warm blood had been glorious, the pathetic shriek of the Imperial Fist more so. Narach snapped back to the present, he pushed the memory of the Siege of the Emperor’s Palace back. Too few of his glorious brethren were emerging from the assault. He’d issued the order, “Bring forth Ferrum Draco the Vindacator siege tank & the Obliterators Cult”. ‘Acknowledged my Lord’. Narach gazed up at the defiant form of the Forge, his lips twisting into a snarl. “Bring about my transport and assemble my guard, we launch our final assault on Prometheus!” Round 1 – Dark Vengeance Mission – D3+2 Object (5), dawn of war set up Army Guards After arrive that my gaming club & pick out what table I’d be starting on for the first round. I found out I would be against Imperial Guards. The first few turns saw my Rhinos taken on a lot of hull point damnge & ether being immobile or had no weapons from the fire power of 24 diffrent heavy weapons teams. When gaming against Imperial Guards, I find it best move forward & never slowing down, spreading the units out so your not take to much damnge from there ord weapons & useing the Obliterators to pick there target. Useing the units I had left by turn 4 along with the Terminators that deep strike down during turn 2/3 pick off the Lascannon Guard teams, I was able to launch my assault. While my Heldrake was buring & ripping apart other Guard units trying to stop them from gain objects & also surviving six Lascannons shots on the very last turn of the game. While my guard oppent sent his unit to counter in or to go & get the object during the game. Sorry there not so much photos taken, we where a little push for time when we got mid way though turn 4 & turn 5 ment we only had 15 mins to get both our turns in http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05819.jpg My Iron Warriors are about to face 24 Imperial Guards heavy weapons teams & in total 145 Guard models http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05820.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05821.jpg Imperial Guards advancing http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05822.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05823.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05824.jpg Wall of Iron http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05825.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05826.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05827.jpg Next Round 2 against Dark Eldar Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/264653-stirling-wargamer-rapid-fire-2012/ Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
Round 2 - Shadows of the past Mission – One Object each, Vanguard set up Army – Dark Eldar It was really good to get drawn against David as it been a while since we had a game. David use to go to the wargaming club until his new job ment he’d have to move. Like wise we both found it funny as we where both drawn against each other during last year Rapid Fire event. Just this time we both had brand new armies. With the way the terrain was on the table, when we rolled for set up & who’d go first, I op to go first. Just this would help to avoid any Dark Lance shots to my Rhinos & cover as much ground as possible, so my Iron Warriors would not have to walk it on turn 1. I mange to win the spot prize for this game which was for anyone who made there oppent fail a Ld test first. Just David assaulted the Duke & his Trueborn bodyguard into one of my Rhinos units, only to take a few hull points off. Following turn that unit disembark & then got the units down to just one trueborn & the duke, fail his Ld & having them run. While David also done a bomb run with his Jet Bikes take apart another Rhino unit who tank got destroyed during his turn 1. But lucky my heldrake was able to come on from reserve & aim it baleflame weapon onto them, killing all but one of the Jet Bikes. Few turns later I would bring the Heldrake back on to vector strike that last Jet bike so it could not contest my object & then baleflame a unit of Warriors who raider had deep strike near by. While with David object I mange to get one of my Rhino units to break though & hold that while it took a lot of punishment from the Dark Eldar fire power. While my Lord was in bitter close combat with the Dark Eldar Lord & his Incibi unit. The Chaos Gods favour Narach as he killed the Dark Eldar Lord who was arm with a Huskblade with his Daemonic blade & then next combat phase kill the Incubi, I think for the boon chart I got Stubborn & Fleet for the Lord. In the end David mange to kill the last few models in squad 3, I’d sent them back with there Rhino destroy to guard the object only to be obliterated from the Dark Eldar Warrior unit, I think out of 10 armour saves only 2 had past. While his Wychies killed the last of my Iron Warriors near his own object. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05848.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05849.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05850.jpg ++Terminators inbound, destroy all xenos++ http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05851.jpg The wall of Iron holding in the middle of the table http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05852.jpg Heldrake coming on turn 2 & baleflame a unit of Dark Eldar jet Bikes http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05853.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05857.jpg Lord Narach & his Terminators bodyguards making there way to the Dark Eldar object (Servo Skull from the limited ed dice GW release with 6th ed) http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05858.jpg Obliterator holding back the xeno filth, while other Iron Warriors units make there way back to hold my object http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05859.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05860.jpg Heldrake just came back on turn 4, vector strike the last Jet Bike that did not get killed on turn 2 from Balefire & then setting the Dark Eldar Warriors on flames http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05861.jpg Chaos Lord Narach issiue a challenge to his Dark Eldar counter part who is arm with a Huskblade. Iron-Daemon Forge
Round 3 - Veteran of the Long Wars Mission – Kill points, our own set up which was like Dawn of War in 5th ed Army - Marines Another re-match. I fought Stuart & his Space Marines last year Rapid Fire when I was useing my Space Wolf army.Like the last year this game was fought to the bitter end between us with no idea how it was going until the very end of the game. This year Stuart use a different list from the one I fought & he’d be battleing my brand new Iron Warriors force. Stuart got the first turn & was able to take apart the Rhino I had set up, forcing the unit inside to take shelter in a defence terrain from the rest of his Plasma Cannon Marines. While his Terminators where making there way forward to attack my lines. When I brought on my army I was make sure to cover as much ground as possible. One key moment for both of us when Stuart has a Tactical Marine squad in the woods. Turn 3, after deep strike a unit of Terminators & shooting that his Terminator unit with Librarian on turn 2. Stuart had fire a Vindcator killing three of the four Terminators, leaving just the Terminator Champion, he hed to redeem himself as during Round 1 he’d turn into a spawn. With this in mind, during turn 3 he assaulted into the Tactical Marines unit & issue a challenge to there Veteran Sergeant , killing him in the challenge & his weapon became instant death on the boon table. Sadily the following turn he did get killed by the rest of the Tactical Marines, but the combat had allowed my Squad 3 to assault in during that turn this happen. While another moment, Stuart was going for the Warlord point useing his Land Speeder to take down my Chaos Lord Narach. But it seem once more the Chaos Gods favour him as he made his Inv saves against there Multi meltas. Following turn he went on to assault a second Tactical squad that where in the middile of the table & killing a few, but he would soon fall. He’d taken two wounds from overwatch & then the attacks from the remaining Space Marines mange to take him down. In the end it was 11 for myself & 10 for Stuart. It was a really close game & there was not telling how the points where. But same time the main thing was this was a great re-match & when we look that what was left on the table. I had Heldrake, Obliterator, Rhino, 2x Iron Warriors units between 4 to 6 models left. While Stuart had a Tactical unit & 2x Speeder & there a few other things left alive. It was also good talking to Stuart just both talking about the game & just how close the game was. With day one that a end, it was time to pack up my army & go into Stirling to pick up a curry for dinner before going home, relaxing & watch some TV before day 2. http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05865.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05867.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05868.jpg Terminators deep strike down taken care of there Imperial counter parts :) before a Vindcator shell take three out of the four from this unit http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05869.jpg During Round 1, this Champion roll on the boon & got spawn. Since then during the event he mange to redeem himself, here he just killed the Space Marine Veteran & get a instant death Power Axe :P http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05871.jpg My Iron Warriors 3rd Unit getting ready to count attack into the Space Marine flank http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05872.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05873.jpg I was to make a 4+ cover save for the unit & ended up not fail a single one http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05874.jpg After making a Inv save against a few Land Speeder Multi Melta. librisrouge
I'm just a bit unclear. Did you win all three of these games? Maybe you mentioned it an I just missed seeing it. Iron-Daemon Forge
Now I got some time to get the last three rounds post on here :cuss Game 4 Mission – Big Guns Never Tier, Spearhead 5th ed set up Army – Space Wolves. With the start of day two. Me & David from round 2 seem to be drawn again, but we both said to the Gaming club member running the tournament if it was ok to change oppents, just so we could game against different oppent. David would be battle Blood Angels & I would be battleing Aaron & his Space Wolves. I fought Aaron a few times that my local Games Workshop store with the Iron Warriors while getting use to the 6th ed rules & then codex Chaos & like this, they where all great games. After setting up the objects. We rolled for set up & who would go first. Like Round 2, I had won the dice roll & chose to set up first & to go first as I know how lucky Aaron get with his Long Fang unit. Likewise, with the Heldrake in my army, the Long Fangs would be my first target for the baleflame. We also had Night fight on turn 1 which help a bit, just for me & help my cover saves as I can not roll dice. I was really happy how my Chaos Lord done, after deep strike down on turn 2. He & the Terminators bodyguards took a assault from a unit of Grey Hunters led by a Terminators Wolf Guard only to be cut down & I’d ended up with the instant death roll on the boon table for his Daemonic Axe. One scary moment for me was when Aaron had got his Land Speeder to the back armour of the Heldrake & rolling a 6 for the Multi Melta, but lucky I made the 5+ Inv save for the Heldrake. Like the games before this was a great game. In the end Aaron only had his Drop Pod left on turn 6 but it was a really bloody game, with my Rhino units ether being killed or down to a mere 4 to 3 Iron Warriors left, or if it was my Obliterators they’d be down to one wound. Space Wolves set up http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05881.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05880-1.jpg The heldrake came on during turn 2, the first time it arrive on time. Iron-Daemon Forge
Game 5 - Ultimate kill Mission – Assassin, 5 Object & 1 for killing HQ, if a HQ killed another HQ then it would be 2pts Army Grey Knights After launch it was time to see where I would be for round 5 of the tournament & found out I would be against Martin Moffit. It been a few years since I last fought Martin, last time I fought him was 5th ed with my Space Wolves & I rememeber failed my Night Fight roll against his Harlquines in his Eldar army..... I was only 3 inch away from them as well..... with both units of Grey Hunters. One of many history of bad dice rolls when I gamed against him, I mange to kill my own Biker unit when I had Raven Wing or I killed my own Obliterator back in 2005 when I had my Mk4 Iron Warrior army. I think Martin was really happy to get this re-match against me & it always good to get a game against himself. Martin main aim was to use the Vindcator Assassin to kill my unit leader mainly because I had name them all. While the Vindcator did not get to do this, he did however destroy one of my Rhinos & getting first blood for the Grey Knights. My set up http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05888.jpg Martin set up http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05889.jpg With Martin going first, he'd set up the Vindcare assassin to my right flank. His main aim was to take out each Champion due to me name them. Iron-Daemon Forge
Game 6 - Big Guns never tier Mission - Kill Points, Pitch battle Oppent - Guards For the finial game of the weekend. I would be against my friend Chris & his Imperial Guards. I fought his Imperial Guards before in the past both friendly games & when getting practise for a event we where going to attend. Each time those games where really hard fought & a great challenge. One of our match was last when when my 1750pts Space Wolf force took on his Guard & I think it came down to a single kill point between us in my Space Wolves favour, along with a lot of great moment. I mange to win the dice roll for first turn & set up. As you will notice this was the same table as my round 1 game & I chose the other side. Beside already set up on the other side for Round 1, the table had a good bit of ruin in the middile for launch a midfield assault, so that way even if my tanks got destroyed I would still have gotten a lot of ground. Sadily this was not ment to be as Chris stole the first turn & bombarded my Rhinos destroying or immobile them all on turn 1. When it came to Guards I found the best way is forward & try to get my Iron Warriors units into assault. But Chris also had a 50 man platoon, who lucky kept fail there order for first rank fire, second rank fire. While else where when one of my Terminators arrive by deep strike, Chris shot them with the Penal Legion who roll a Assault 2 shots, I some how mange to fail my saves & resulted in only one Chaos Terminators in the unit being left alive. I also found out how danger Marbo (sp) can be as he attack in the mist of my Iron Warriors with the demo charge & then trying to kill him in close Combat. I think it was a Melta shot that killed him in the very last turn. While my heldrake, over the weekend I was really impress with how this done. In this game I would say I did take more damnge only being on a single hull point in the end. But it was round 5 against Martin & this game that it took any real hull point damnge. But same time it done a lot of damnge with the Vector strike & baleflame Also I think this is the second time me & Chris has been drawn to battle it out in a tournament, the other time was during a event in Nottingham earily this year with my Space Wolves army. My set up in the hope I had first turn http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05900.jpg Chris combi platoon with 50 Imperial Guards & he'd wanted to try useing the Psychier HQ, in the past it has been a Lord Commissar http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05901.jpg Turn 1 for the Imperial Guards :) http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05902.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05906.jpg My Iron Warriors advanc making as much use of any cover on the table http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05907.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05908.jpg Unit No3 of my Iron Warriors about to take on the 50 man Platoon with a mix of Lasguns & Missile Launcher http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05909.jpg The Vendetta arrive taken care of my Obliterators & there supporting fire (I could not roll dice when shooting with Lascannons :D ) http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05910.jpg Rough Rider about to assault a Lone Terminator after he immobile the Leman Russ http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05911.jpg My Heldrake arrive onto the table & baleflame what it could of the 50 man Platoon unit after vecter strike another (trying to rememeber which unit the Heldrake vector strike) http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05912.jpg Vendetta in my Iron Warrilrs battle line, just about to drop off a unit of Imperial Guard specil weapon squad to take care of any last remaining Iron Warriors kicking about there Heldrake back into my own lines. Just with this being Kill points & I think this was turn 5. Last thing I wanted was for Heldrake to go off the table & be claim as a kill point if the game ended on turn 5 http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05915.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05917.jpg With the gaming going onto turn 6 now, my Heldrake is aim to vector strike the Leman Russ battle tank http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Rapid%20Fire%202012/DSC05919.jpg I had a good weekend & it was good catching up with friends both from my wargaming club or those I know when I go down to Nottingham for the Throne of Skulls weekend in Warhammer World. Also a bit on the army General Veterans of the Long War skill - I really like this & think it worth taken in a Chaos unit. Against Marines we all know it brillaint getting that re-roll in close combat. It can really help when there a close combat/a unit you need to deal with right away & not be bog (slow) down. Having the re-roll help give us that edge, much like Eldar Farseer with a unit of Banshies or Space Wolves with the Wolf Standard. Even if you do not come across Space Marines, the +1 Ld alone help a lot. While I do have Icon of Vengance, it is easy for the oppent to kill him & make us Chaos player loss our fearless ability, more so since we no longer get re-roll we use to get from Mark of Undivided & then later Icon of Glory. Icon of Vengance - This has been worth taken in standard Chaos Marines units. With the loss of Icon of glory/Mark of Undivided, we loss the re-roll for Ld's. The last thing I want is to loss combat to a unit of Grots & then be over run by them, which will most like happen as I can not roll dice (ToS Oct last year I got a award for this!!) Having the Icon of Vengance help me a lot, having my units hang around a bit longer or say they are holding a object, last thing I'd want is for them to run of the table from fail there Ld. It also why I take Veterans of the Long War as well just in the event the Icon is taken out. Axe of Blind Fury - On a Chaos Lord, this has been brillaint. I would only take it in games higher than 1500pts. For me this is just personial due to the way the army work & being careful with the points as it trying to get the balance of scoring units. But the Axe of Blind Fury is great & during Rapid Fire it really help in the Dark Eldar game since the Chaos Lord is S6. Also with the d6 attack, Mark of Khorne ether helping with rage when assaulting or counter attack when the oppent assault you. While there is a risk of taken a wound, it really great with the new codex as it dose not stop the attack. Heldrake - During the weekend that was the first time I use the heldrake. My aim was for Rapid Fire being 1750pts. I wanted to try one of the new Daemonic stuff from the codex. But I was unsure which one. I went with the heldrake as the model was converted up & it look cool. Also I only had a week after I arrive back from Nottingham with Throne of Skulls October until Rapid Fire & spending the Monday after ToS recovering from the travling. I was really impress with the Heldrake as a unit. It was only round 5 & 6 that saw any hull point damnge done. While during the event, the baleflame done a great job. With the Heldrake arrive on by reserve it allow you to pick out a target. So for exsample against Space wolves you would aim for there Long Fangs or say that unit of Scouts with 2+ cover save holding a object, no matter how many Lascannon you fire it not going to do to much. While flamer will help so much While the Vector strike as well was brillaint. I'd only ever give a Heldrake a Baleflame to be honsty. Just your hitting on a 4+ with the Autocannon you can give it, but end of the day we do have other units that can deal with long range fire power - Dreadnought, Obliterators, Havocs, Chaos Marines, Noise Marines, etc.... With the Flamer, the Heldrake going to be moving fast anyway & with this being torrment it help give that little extra range. You can pretty much get anyway on the table. But that just my view. I've already bought another Heldrake model for my Iron Warriors army as I aim to make them up to 3000pts. I have also added a Maulier Fiend (sp?) which I am hoping on trying out soon. Overall I like the brand new codex Chaos Space Marines & how much chose there is. There a lot of things I want to try out for the Iron Warriors & I still got a lot left over if I wanted to collect other Chaos Armies like Night Lords or World Eater in the future.
