That said, here is a collection of what I've been working on! Eventually I plan on having 3 Companies, each a maxed-out Force Org Chart; While Companies are gathered together ad-hoc, I've always liked the idea of each Castellan shaping his company in his own image a bit. The army I've built over the years will be the more balanced Company, some of which is presented here. I've got ideas for an assault company using BA rules (mostly because I want jumppack vets :P) under Castellan Renault. Last will be the Marshall's Household, which will take time due finances for fancy conversion bits. Castellan Brekkon of the Crusade of the Storm's 2nd Fighting Company. A quiet, taciturn man, Brekkon leads his Fighting Company from the front, setting up forward positions and reinforcing the assault elements of the Storm. A student of the ancient teachings of Sigismund, Brekkon recognizes the wisdom in allowing his Brothers to use a variety of weapons and tactics, each playing to their own strengths. It is his duty to assign training to the majority of neophytes to Initiates who will give them both a balanced foundation and provide specialized training. I've had this guy for 5 years but never really painted it well due to my intense hatred of the old metal bits, then I ran across the LRC upgrade kit at my FLGS and had no excuse but to repaint it. I'm going to magnetize the entire thing so it can break apart for storage/display. I really wanted to make a storm-bolter armed dudemans, but we don't have access to such things...thus this guy was born. Karl started out life as an AoBR dread, got painted and based for a BT painting crusade challenge, and has recently been given a new paintjob, bits, and will soon have that fancy new base next to him. Still need to fill in GS behind the faceplate, it took some serious hacking to remove the AoBR face. The first thing I ever bought for 40k was the classic Terminator Captain (you KNOW the one) and a box of the 2nd/3rd ed. Terminators. I loved those dudes, they just seemed so brutal and in-the-face against everything from most sci-fi. This guy is the sergeant from that first box, modded to be a non-sergeant after 4th came out and we no longer had access to them regularly. Him, and his squad, provided some enjoyable memories in Armageddon and I added the extra shoulder plates to him and the squad after trading some bits with an ork player to commemorate a great battle. Over time I've lost one of them, had one break, and added various heavy weapons guys to the squad, but they hold such a special place that I wanted to update the entire squad with new models and gear, and really pay homage to the unit that got me hooked on this hobby. http://i.imgur.com/klnYt.jpg This is the updated version! http://i.imgur.com/hPGo0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/caGKy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/A0QeR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/stMEb.jpg The updated version began as an AoBR terminator (from the same set as Karl), then underwent a large amount of chopping and rearranging to get the new helmet to fit. I bought another pointing-finger PF to use on the next Terminator-update, suggesting the Sarge game it to one of his squadmates after switching to his sword. More of these guys to come. Going through and rebasing the entire army as I feel like it, they'll all have em one day. Lastly, a Salamanders tactical sergeant, again from AoBR. Just got the pauldrons to do up the rest of his squad, so more to come on that front. Working on a Captain for them, I'd like to fill them out to somewhere around 1000 points.
