Lord_Urbonov
So, to any and all experienced painters out there, I wish to solicit some advice. I just got a set of the new bloodletters to serve alongside my bloodhtirster, and I had an neat idea for painting them. I want to have it seem like they have glowing blood or fire or magama inside and it is showing thorugh in soem places, contrasted against a dark skin. The best way I could think of how to do this was give them all a white basecoat then paint a red or orange or whatever glow colour I want in the cracks and crevices of the models, then drybrush black (or maybe a dark metal) colour over the rest, hopefully giving them a blackend look with the red/orange insides peaking through the colour still left in the cracks etc. If anyone has a better idea, I am all ears. The Wolfmeister
You're basically just going to paint them in reverse to achieve the effect you want, leaving the lightest colors showing where there would normally be shadow. White, yellow, orange, red, black. Good luck. Brother Nihm
Personally I'd go with a black undercoat and use this Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265110-molten-bloodlettersbloodthirster/#findComment-3230929 Share on other sites
