Jonah
This isn't really a tutorial, more of a tip! I recently bought a Heldrake and like a lot of people wasn't 100% happy with it, mostly the chicken legs at the back. So instead of putting them on, I put the tendrils from the Forgefiends there instead. It was extremely easy, no cutting required, I just put them together and glued them where the legs should be. I think GW must have planned for this because it works really well. Here are some pictures so you can judge for yourselves. http://taptowin.co.uk/Heldrake1.JPG http://taptowin.co.uk/Heldrake2.JPG http://taptowin.co.uk/Heldrake3.JPG http://taptowin.co.uk/Heldrake4.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265147-heldrake-tendrils/ Share on other sites
Julgolax
I really like this, it makes sense since these dont seem to be meant for landing. Have you considered using Maulerfiend tentacles on the defiler for a "Power Scourge" effect? Urauloth
Everyone who's seen that picture has considered that :P As for the heldrake - huge improvement. Looks a lot less like a duck with those stumpy back legs gone, and the tendrils also help the overall balance of the mini by bulking it out at the back. lhg033
i like it though would prefere if they were sweeping back along withthe other tenrdals/cables on the model (salt dipping/bending maybe?) to enforce the illusion of moving at speed and them whipping back. i really feel the heldrake kit is missing a decent, larger tail. as a Kvlt Ghost say, this balances the back of the model back to make this less of an issue Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265147-heldrake-tendrils/#findComment-3232831 Share on other sites
