Death Company Custom Dice

Hey Guys, a year ago I had some custom Blood Angels dice made (http://www.knightsofbaal.blogspot.com/2011...ustom-dice.html) and I finally got around to making some Death Company dice to compliment them.

Just placed the order this morning and here are images of the sample dice:

I used Chessex's Opaque black dice with red pips. The Chessex guy also said they can do Velvet black dice with red pips too, it has a rather cool metallic sheen to the black surface. Unfortunately, they wouldn't be getting more in until the end of the year. So, I went with the opaque just because my original Blood Angels dice were an opaque red. If anyone is interested in making their own, here is the artwork I sent into Chessex to have mine done:

how much did they charge you for them?

I ordered 20 dice and a small 4" x 6" black dice bag for $31.75, this includes shipping. The more dice you order the cheaper they are, I remember last year a TON of people did a giant group order of the original Blood Angels dice, may be worth doing if you know others interested...

Chessex is a fantastic company for custom dice. Their pricing is very reasonable especially if you can get a group buy going. They messed up about 20 dice out of 5000 that I've ordered from them, so I can honestly say they're pretty decent.

For anyone interested, the image that Evicerator posted is an example of the "Velvet" black dice that chessex told me about. Unfortunately he said they won't have stock of those until the end of the year. Evicerator, did you guys clear them out of stock? heheheheh Dice looks great too btw!

"Precision dice"?

You're taking this game too seriously.

Thousands of dollars in books, terrain, paints, toy soldiers, etc. Hundreds of hours spent lovingly crafting and painting these things. Weekends and evenings of fun and games spent with people I like. A few extra bucks for nice looking dice that roll a normal probability curve is trivial in comparison. BUT, if I can have dice that either look good or roll corectly (but not both), my engineering side insist on function over form.

Strange thing is, precision dice also work in other games using a d6, so you can justify spreading that cost out among your different wargames, boardgames, RPG's, etc.

edit: Punctuation error

Your engineering side should also know that you want a uniform probability distribution not a normal one. As an ordained minister of the engineering faith, I ask only that you say 5 Hail Teslas, and all is forgiven! :)
