Enzephalon
Hey guys, I'm here to present you my version of Sanguinius. It's 95% finished. Some finishing touches are still needed, but overall I'm pretty happy, especially since I'm not that experienced using green stuff. The idea is not new, and the credit for using the Necron nightbringer model as a base goes to at least three other guys. But the idea impressed me so much that I needed to have my own. Paid about 50 $ for the nightbringer and the wings. A hefty price tag for a single model, but compared to the new Angron model of FW it's a bargain. ^^ So... Tell me what you think before I slap some paint on it. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/7/428924_md-.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/7/428925_md-.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/7/428926_md-.JPG

Jorre
Awsome modeling skills man. One of the best Sanguinius models I have seen. The only criticism I have is I can imagine him going to battle with so many robes on!
irwit
Looks great but the pose is a little uninspiring. Its his sword arm and where he is looking mostly. Easiest fix would be a head move, angle looking up, more angelic. Harder would be start arms again and head. Stick them on an armature and move around d until you get something more interesting looking
Sinful eyes
Looking great! Cant wait to see it painted. Only thing that looks a little off to me is the size of the sword. It may just be the picture (or just me) but it looks a little small compared to the rest of the mini.
irwit
also, if those wings are metal, I can only assume you are using witchcraft to keep them in position!

With these restrictions there is only so much I can do. Also I like to have poses for my miniatures that represent them in a "in the middle of a battle" kind of style. I can't stand things like that: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2010...heSanguinor.jpg which is what you are suggesting. While it is indeed pretty inspiring, angelic and nice to look at, it's not something you would come across on the field of battle. This is how I picture Sanguinius: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcq6dbjLn01qhubgso10_1280.jpg A big badass who smacks people in the face... Concerning the size of his sword. It is actually pretty big. Same size as a nemesis force sword, but in comparison to the mini itself it seems to be smaller. I have no bigger swords to use, but I'm open for suggestions. Witchcraft, green stuff and superglue + wood glue. ^^
Xenith
I think the head pose looks good, I can imagine him coming in at speed about to turn a traitor into a crater. Agree that the sword looks a little small. Even in the art you pictured, his red sword is only just a little shorter than Sang himself.
Morollan
Awesome work but my first thought when I saw the picture was "Where are his legs?". Maybe it's the angle of the photo but to me it still looks like the Nightbringer, who just sort of materialises out of the ground, as opposed to an angel in flight. Sorry to criticise as I'm a huge fan of your work.

Sorry to criticise as I'm a huge fan of your work. No offence taken... I think the pictures are misleading, since the Nightbringer does have legs. Have a look at these two pictures: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/8/429183_md-.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/8/429184_md-.JPG
Enzephalon
Hi guys, Today I finished painting my Magnum Opus (as for now). This is for sure my most expensive single miniature, and the one with the most difficult conversion work. I'll have to touch up his wings, but in general I'm happy how he turned out. Hope you like him. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/13/430953_md-.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/13/430955_md-.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/13/430956_md-.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/11/13/430957_md-.JPG

John Rainbow
Looking good. I think if you drybrushed the wings with white he might look a bit more 'angelic' as they are a bit dull at the moment.
Djulius
Doh... dodgy mouse wheel jumped me past the last photos... Nice job although John's right about the wings... IMHO they need something to pick them up after the wash.
Enzephalon
As I have already mentioned the wings will be touched up later on. Thanks for the input nevertheless. : )
