Guest Drunk Guardian
You missed a spot. Pg. 64 - Saga of the Hunter: "Infantry only." Pg. 62 - Thunderwolf Mount: "A character with a Thunderwolf Mount has the unit type of cavalry," Touché My TO missed that Not to sound rude, but if you are fairly new to the forums and think you have found a massive sneaky aspect of the rules, chances are that the older members on the forums have already hashed it out a thousand times to determine if it was legal or not. A swift claws pack outflanking and with 4++ (or 3++ when going flat out!!) Jink saves would be crazy good! Such a shame it's not allowed. I think you can outflank swiftclaws if your warlord is attached to them and he picks up the outflank warlord trait right? I don't see why not, though it's random! And sadly, it doesn't give you stealth like SotH does. Shaggy12009
At the risk of being wrong a second time (we all make mistakes) you can attach the two and outflank. The only problem is your swift claws will wind up breaking off during the next movement phase or have to move at foot speed. They still have HoW and an improved stat line, but I wouldn't sacrifice the mobility. This leaves your rune priest/battle leader on foot, without backup, probably behind enemy lines. It's a great way to loose your HQ model and a pretty expensive trick. eyeslikethunder
I find building a multitude of plans in a list better Somedays My WP joins the long fangs and adds accuracy and better cover saves some days he helps my scoring TWL w/ TWC outflank to a objective somedays he helps my GH get to the objective basically a force multiplier that adds options and opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable to me Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265390-saga-of-the-hunter/page/2/#findComment-3235736 Share on other sites
skeletoro
What about taking a wolf scout unit (plasma spam perhaps) and a wolf priest? The wolf priest can outflank with any unit he likes, even if he doesn't stay in it. After they're deployed he can go join the scouts (so he's not left slogging on foot on his lonesome). Only issues is getting the scouts and wolf priest deployed on the same turn/table edge. So probably not the most viable idea. It's a shame we don't have a codex special character with SotH. Jonny Wolf
My brothers, thanks for the great replies and discussion. Follow-up question: So if my Wolf Priest (in Power Armor) with Saga of the Hunter joins a Terminator Pack and outflanks, can I attach other independent characters to the formation? Thus allowing them to outflank with the unit too? Thanks, JonnyWolf Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265390-saga-of-the-hunter/page/2/#findComment-3242671 Share on other sites
