dagerg
Been working on a Dark Apostle conversion for my Nurgle army. Would love to get some commentary / constructive criticism. Next steps are to green stuff some flowing robes and/or evil parchments flowing off the sides of his torso / connected to his shoulders or something. More details on my blog here: http://crankyoldgamer.net/CrankyBlog/?p=1409 http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/001.jpg http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/002.jpg http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/003.jpg http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/001a.jpg Cheers! http://crankyoldgamer.net/CrankyBlog/?p=1409 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265456-dark-apostle-wip/ Share on other sites
Brother Ambroz
Very nice, only thing I would do though is maybe add something to his legs? Maybe a few sores? dagerg
Yes - good point. That is something that always makes them good and Nurgly. I'm also thinking something like the plastic sorcerer book that comes with the Chaos terminator Lord, as he is essentially a fallen chaplain and would likely have evil tomes on his person. Zacco Kathcis
Looks good, you should definately add some books, or parchments to go with his role as dark apostle. A minor thing i noticed is that he seems to look up into the air instead of straight at the enemy(although he is gunhand is also pointing in that direction so i guess it makes sense), other then that his belly and the pipes/insides look cool. Zeller
I really dig this figure, man. How did you make the 'cabling' around him? Is it purely greenstuff or is there a small thin wire acting like a skeleton? dizzy-xc
Cool model! The GS work is very distinct and quite clearly stands out. I like it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265456-dark-apostle-wip/#findComment-3234560 Share on other sites
marine7312000
You could create the parchments using cardstock and superglue but you seem to be much more proficient with GS than myself. The model does look great. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265456-dark-apostle-wip/#findComment-3234569 Share on other sites
dagerg
Thanks all! The cabling is done with pure green stuff, particularly using this thing I just got called a Tentacle Maker by GSI (Green Stuff Industries). It works remarkably easy and makes great results: http://greenstuffindustries.blogspot.com/ I just finished putting some robes on him. I'll take a picture and follow up. I like the idea of card stock parchments, I'll explore that too. Thanks all for the critique, this is immensely helpful. dagerg
Some more updates from some work this morning - added a bolter (which will eventually become a converted combi bolter plasma gun) and his "book of evil". I also in the previous section Nurgled up his legs. I also added some corrosion holes on his shoulder pad. Still need to green stuff up the gap on the back between his torso armor and legs. http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/008.jpg http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/009.jpg http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/010.jpg http://www.crankyoldgamer.net/img/miniatures/40k/chaos/dark_apostle/011.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265456-dark-apostle-wip/#findComment-3234830 Share on other sites
chaplainmikey
I really like it, a good combination of bits and some very nice greenstuff work. The only thing I dislike however is the book. To me it just seems outta place. Mike. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265456-dark-apostle-wip/#findComment-3235023 Share on other sites
