Another WIP, this time a Battle Brother who had a stint within the Deathwatch. There are a few of those in my army now.

My Sanguinary Priest colors will look more or less like that. Experimenting with "Blood for the Blood God" in the cup and very happy with the results.

So, I've found this in an artist supply shop today.

And this is what I've done with it. The power weapons look AMAZING in person, just like that. Single coat, best get some subtle tonal differences underneath, like from sloppy airbushing the main color. The guy on the left has NO EDGE HIGHLIGHTS! Done! O_o'

And another thing - white PEARLESCENT acryllic, strong tone color wash (here Cassandora Yellow) or glaze, BOOM!

Couldn't get good focus to show the glittering but you get the idea smile.png

That blue paint might be good for an Alpha Legion army happy.png

I'll have to keep my eye out for it for power weapons thumbsup.gif

That's why I brought it first to the AL guys in the Chaos forum today! biggrin.png

But yeah, be on the lookout. There's a lot of mixed shades - green/violet, blue/green like this one, orange/yellow, gold/green. Imagine a black armour pattern, with this diluted all over it, satin varnished. Scarab carapace anyone?

Damn, I'm really impressed by the metallic and the pearlescent acrylics.

I am as well. And those buggers on the photos were not even gloss varnished yet (photos would not come out right if they were). Imagine how they gleam NOW!

My new Calth set has inspired me to convert the plastic Contemptors a bit. First, they will get reposed and magnetized for complete interchangeability of weapons. Yes, why, hello Mortis Kheres. Hello, Sword and Shield Contemptor Dreadnought! :D

Then they will get Templarified properly.

As for the repose, while I wait for the 2nd Dread to arrive, I'm trying to go for a "running" / "advancing" dread, add a bit of dynamics. Here's a test pose on Blutack. A can of whoop-ass comin' your way! :v

A little more of an idea where this is headed. The arms will be magnetized where they are 'tacked now, the weapons already are. There is another plastic Contemptor coming, will have a different body / legs pose, the intent is to have weapons interchangeable and make Mortis Kheres and Sword Brethren (sword + shield) variants possible.

And a sneak-peek of a vs Tzeentch Daemon diorama. Three years since I made it, I gotta finally do something with that bad boy!

Here's the huge monstrosity underway and magnetized. If anyone tells you GW Air paints are crap, shut them up. This is Averland Sunset on BLACK primer, between 1 and 2 thin layers tops, H&S Ultra @ 2 psi.

Lovely. Great contrast with the black arms and yellow on the muzzle brakes. msn-wink.gif

Yep, yep. That's what I was going for exactly, glad it works. The arms will get some of my Forgeworld decals, eg. Templar Cross (white with golden border), etc. I plan a tiny Templar cross on on side of the collar, just like Alexis Polux has on his Gorget, for example.
