TheForgottenAngel
Hello everyone! So as some of you know I'm building an Dark Angels Army mainly focused right around the time Lion El'Johnson was first given the 1st Legion. My question for you all is what Bolters match up with different armor marks? Also what would be fluffy for Cataphractii Terminators weapons? I have 2 sets of the special weapons and 2 sets of the powerfists. Can all of the Terminators have Combi-Bolt Pistols? Would hammers be appropriate for all of them or is that overkill? MkII - ___?___Bolter Pattern MkIII- ___?___Bolter Pattern Mk IV- ___?___Bolter Pattern Cataphractii Terminator Equipment? All Hammers, All Swords, All Combi-Bolters? Grotsmasha
There is no set armour mk to armour, it is just different guns from different Forgeworlds, all of FW resin bolters are acceptable, even GWs 2ed 40k bolters are fine. Vodunius
Well, there's never been any published fluff about it, but for what its worth the WD129 power armour article sketches had the different marks holding different types with the initial minis following suit. Mk II & III had a clunky thing with multiple holes the barrel - I believe the Phobos is intended to be a reimagining of that. Mk V & VI had the RTB01 boltgun which the Umbra is a blatant update of. Mk IV and Mk VII both had the '2nd edition' boltgun of which the Tigrus is a sortof update, tho I think you could also justify Godwyn here as well (since that's what Mk VII's use 'now' and its what you get on the Chaos sprues..) Pet theory: The RTB01/Umbra was a stripped down wartime version introduced alongaside MkV with the Tigrus and/or Godwyn being state of the art introduced alongaside MkIV with production being suspended/cut back during the Heresy. Yes, I am aware I have no life. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265576-matching-up-armor-marks-and-bolters/#findComment-3235824 Share on other sites

Jarakin
It seems that forgeworld have recommended products at the bottom of the pages of the bolter accessories, Phobos has Mk II/III, Umbra has Mk II, Umbra Ferrox has MK II/III/IV and Tigris has Mk IV Tac/Assault/Command. Personally I'd go with rule of cool on this one. :jaw: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265576-matching-up-armor-marks-and-bolters/#findComment-3238027 Share on other sites
