gk vs slaanesh help

Khaines wrath

Recommended Posts

Hi I've reposted this topic due to the lack of help I got last time

I'm going up against a experienced slaanesh player who's pretty confident and does a lot of planning

I have( so don't tell me to use something like a land raider as a rhino etc)

Lord kaldor dreigo

2 terminator packs

Brother hood captain( converted emperors champion)

Dreadknight

Rhino

1 grey knight pack

rhino

And if I'm lucky a librarian

He has (don't know what war gear sorry)

Keeper of secrets

Daemon prince of slaanesh

5seekers

20 daemonettes

2 chariots

Please tell me what to use with what upgrades

AND what to do with it( what to look out for, what should kill what )

I've never used gk before but I am told I'm a very good player and especially adaptable to different playing styles

I'm just gettin these so I haven't decide to build them as paladins or terminators, interceptors of purifiers etc

Thanks in advance

I don't play GK, so I don't know all the names of things. I do play Daemons though. With Slaanesh, they throw rending attacks at you with a higher initiative. Expect Paven of Slaanesh. It's a lash attack that moves anything but non-walker vehicles D6".

So Halberds for the higher Int. to strike the same time as Daemonettes and Seekers. Keeper is at Int 10.

The Chariots are weak. Shoot them with Psycannons.

Then the main thing is using the psychic power that makes any deep strike a mishap. All the daemons you listed are assault units. So stop them from deep striking near you, and keep your distance.

Hope this helps some.

Quicksilver is generally not worth it versus Daemons. Every Knight model has Psyk-out grenades, which reduce Daemons and/or Psykers to Initiative 1 when your squad charges.

Sanctuary and Might of Titan are preferable. Sanctuary will help cause wounds if Daemons charge (and restrict their movement), Might of Titan stacks with Hammerhand.

Don't forget the Daemonbane rule - if you cause any wounds at all in melee on a multi-wound Daemon, that Daemon still has to take a Leadership test or suffer Instant Death. This works great with Daemonhammers. Since all Daemons have a 5++ at least, they're always getting some form of save against your attacks/shots.

Hmmm....this could probably work;

HQ:

Draigo

(275 points)

Librarian w/stave, 'Might', 'Sanctuary', 'Warp Rift'

(205 points)

Troops:

4 x Paladins w/halberd+psycannon, 6 x Paladins w/halberds

(625 points)

Justicar, Knight w/incinerator, 3 x Knights w/swords, Rhino

(160 points)

Heavy Support:

Dreadknight w/greatsword, teleporter

(230 points)

Total: 1,500 points exactly

Strategy is pretty simple. Attach both characters to the Paladinstar, hide the Strike squad behind it. Use the DK to shunt up a flank and kill stuff as it shows up.

Keeper of secrets

Keep the DK away from this guy, it'll kill him in one round of combat. Try and challenge with Draigo, he'll kill it pretty reliably.

Daemon prince of slaanesh

Again, keep DK away from him. You wanna bait it into charging the Paladinstar

5seekers

I'd send the DK against these guys. You'll probably survive the few Rends you take and clean them up.

20 daemonettes

You should be able to kill them off, between your Paladinstar shooting and the DK charging them.

2 chariots

Your Paladinstar should be able to kill them off fairly easily.

His list is terrible.

what should i watch out for

Him charging everything into the PaladinStar at once. It's really his only way to kill it off. So, I'd use your Shooting phase (he has no shooting of his own that can really hurt you) to clean up the distraction units (Seekers, Daemonettes), thus forcing him to commit the Chariots and monsters. Use DK to delay the Chariots if need be, so you can dedicate your PaladinStar to murdering the two monsters (between Preferred Enemy re-rolls, triple 'Hammerhand' and 'Might' getting you to S8, and the Daemonbane rule, you should kill them off without too many casualties).

I'd also, as I mentioned before, keep the DK away from the big monsters. Both the Keeper and the Prince can murder him in one round of melee, so use the shunt move and jump infantry movement to steer clear and attack those vulnerable Seekers/Daemonettes/Chariots.
