Fire Lord Captain
Hello, wonder if you can help settle something here at my work. we all know that heavy weapons can't fire at full BS if moved, but what happens if that model hasn't moved but another model in the squad has moved (i.e to get into unit coherency). I've always thought that if one model has moved it counts as the whole squad has moved therefore the heavy weapon can only be fired as a snap shot (a penalty for being out of coherency). He says that this isnt the case. What is the answer dear Brothers? Panzerbjørn
That was in 5th edition. In 6th, only the models that actually moved counts as having moved. BRB page 13, right hand column, about in the middle. Panzerbjørn
No worries :-) I find myself looking rules up far more than is strictly necessary to make sure I'm not getting 5th mixed in with 6th ed rules... Legatus
That the entire unit counts as moved when only a single member had moved was the standard from 3rd to 5th Edition, so it is understandable when someone assumes that the same would be the case in 6th. But alas, they changed that mechanic. DarkGuard
Just a quick nitpicky point, you have to declare before moving the unit which models aren't moving. If you don't declare that the heavy weapon isn't moving, he still counts as having moved, like 5th. IIRC that is. You recall correctly, you must declare which models will remain stationary immediately before moving the other models in that unit.
