Space Wolves and Blood Angels

I love Space Wolves. I like the way they play, I like the story, I dig everything about the army. That being said, I love jump packs. Skyclaws just never seem to pull their weight, and you need to put and IC with them before they can really shine.

Blood Angels are our Battle Brothers and seem like they would make a wonderful Vanguard for our midfield glory. Blood Angels where my second choice for a SM army. I was wondering how people feel about the new allies rules (which I haven't played yet) and if it is worth the investment in models or if Allies will be fazed out in the next edition?

Jump Pack troops, Sanguinary Priests, and Reclusiarchs seem very tempting. Has anyone played with Blood Angel Allies? With the errata, the blood chalice only works on the BA, but they seem like they would be off on their own anyways. A RP with divination could also make them quite a bit more formidable.

Search this folder for13th Company Wulfen Allies. Tons of discussion on using BA DC as a 13th Co. Wulfen army.

That said, out of all our alliance options, BA and IG are the only ones people truly seem keen on for now. No telling what 6E codices will determine. Might end up that DA become a favorite.

That would sound like GW. Get everyone to buy 500 point armies and remove allies from the next edition so you have to buy models and make them all 2000 point collections. You're not going to get rid of all those models anyway :(

Yeah, I just worry about the loadout and paint. My girlfriend is pretty good at sculpting and green-stuffs my models to make them more thematic. I also love the idea of Death Company as a 13th Company Unit.

Why is a Librarian so much better?

So I've been wanting to add some Blood Angels to my Great company as well, but in the FAQ, many powers and abilities are changed to say "From Space Wolves Codex Only" or something to that effect. But in the rules for allies, it does say that Blood Brothers can recieve the benifits of pysic powers and such. Like would the Librarian be able to throw Might of Hero's or Shield of Sanguinius on some Grey Hunters? Or would a Rune Priests be able drop Stormcaller down on some friendly BA Assault Marines? How are folks playing these rules?

while i'm not familiar with the BA psychic powers in question, as long as the powers don't say something along the lines of "may only target friendly blood angel units" then it would be fine for it to be cast on space wolves.

As far as I know, GW hasn't made any rules that specify that armies can only be targeted by there armies psychic powers. Instead, they put that limitation on specific psychic powers

They changed wolf priests preferred enemy to only work on other SW, and the same is true for BA chaplains. It is all character abilities that have been changed in the errata to target only units from that codex. I was very sad to see that a sanguinary priest couldn't give my GH FnP and FC. I really wanted a blood chalice near my TWC. Imagine them with FnP and FC, it brought tears to my eyes to think of it, then again when they took away the dream.

You can target Battle Brothers with blessings and such with no problem.

Another couple questions for everyone:

Is there a limit to how many IC's can join a unit? Is there a limit on IC's joining each other? Does this work with Allies? (ie, can a WL and Dante be in a unit together?)
