Cpt_Lucifer
Hi folks, I have started playing around with the idea of henchment to add some more flavour to my Grey Knights. The unit I have been considering is a 50-50 mix of Crusaders and Death Cults delivered fresh to a battlefield near you via Stormraven. Arming the Assassins was fairly straight forward - axe and sword to maximise wounding potential against both 3+ and 2+ . The problem was having was trying to decide whether the Crusaders should be armed with swords or axes... and I was wondering if anyone else had thought much about this and could pass on their musing / opinions? AnImA8
There's another thread already on the topic with some interesting ideas by Spartan249. Personally I think the Axe is the way to go. S 4/AP 2 seems like the clear winner over S 3/AP 3, and the Unwieldy part isn't that significant since the Crusader should be able to grit his teeth through most attacks with his 3++ Stormshield. Also as a point about your Crusader/DCA mix, I don't know if this is the generally accepted ratio, but I had always thought that 1:2 Crusaders to DCA's was about right, so I ran 3 Crusaders and 6 DCA's when I played around with them. Just something to think about. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/265936-arming-crusaders/#findComment-3239587 Share on other sites
Fenric
I must have missed something here since I can't find in the codex where you can choose equipment for either the crusader or the deathcult assasin :tu: Note to self don't ever take a break from this game ^^ Is there some update I don't know about? Gentlemanloser
There are armed with "Power Weapons". As the type is undefined, by the new 6th rules, you look tot he mini to see what type of Power Weapon the mini has. You can model your Crusaders/DCA to have any of the types. Power Sword Power Axe/Halberd Power Lance Power Maul (And probably one more, can't remember!) Reclusiarch Darius
You want sword+axe on the DCA, axe on the Crusaders. Axe is basically a poor man's powerfist, its the only generic power weapon to have AP2 as well (along with Unwieldy, again just like a fist). You want the handful of swings from the Crusaders to hit hard, I'd go axe. DCA want an axe on the off-hand so when fighting Terminators they delete one another.
