very nice indeed, if only we could meet it would be a four way battle! Since my girlfriend collects and also plays Night Lords and now has drawn me into it, I would have to say it would be an epic war and continues struggles of campaign domination! But I can't wait to see shrike and his veterans, you make the best and most inspiring Raven Guard army I have every seen. Maby once Forgeworld releases Corax you might get him? That would be a nice addition I would think, cheers mate keep going!

@daemonclaw: yes indeed its good to have a partner thats helping you out with the geek in you  Mine actualy hated the hobby and especially the mess i tend to make while im at it. but over the past coupe of years it kinda grew on her! she loves to help out with the titan and she even started her own army

and i quote: "no wolves they are to tame for me" while i just bought a second hand collection of you guessed it puppies so we quickly decided to go renagade with them.

Ill tell you a better story even, my oldest son (age 5) also has a small force of his own, he loves to play orks because they "look funny with huge guns" and my daughter (age 4) loves eldar. We love to do small skirmishes sunday morging on our battleground where for some reason all the roll you need to make are 3+ 4+ and you always have an armor save of 3+ alot of fun i have to say

@coldwinter: STOP MAKING COMPLIMENTS you are making me shy ;) it would be fun indeed if we could meet and play a fourway battle!

If you ever cross the big pnd youmore then welcome to Crash at my place, drink my beer and eat my paint ;)

Im currently working on my HQ's bu since wshrike doesnt need alot of converting anymore im working on my Terminatir librarian (robes stormshield and the whole shabang of nifty details) after that im planning on painting the two up and head over to either my dread or one of my stormtalons or even do a tactical squad or even a scout squad!!! to much to paint my desk is really crammed full of sealbags with all my units im planning on slapping some paint on.

as soon as FW releases Corax ill be probally the first one to order him, hell i might even go and pick him up. Been planning a model of him myself but since my 4 year old has better puty skills then i do i decided to wait patiently till FW releases him.

After writing this wall of text (for me) i cant leave you all with some pics of the progres im making on my librarian

im planning on making my own pre heresy shoulderpads and shin guards to make it even stand out more!

-Update-

After having a bit of a slow week and a somewhat painting depression i decided to start my next litlle project a 10 man tactical squad with a melta gun, heavy bolter and a tooled up combimelta sergeant all mounted in -how could it be different- a droppod.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh593/warhammerpaintservice/raven%20guard/100_3968.jpg

-Tactical question-

So i upgraded my army from a 2500 point army to a 3k army giving me some room to play around with my assault squad which will be upgraded to a 10 man vanguard squad, Shrike and a chaplain i was wondering how to best make use of the equipment for my vanguards. I really want to have the maximum close combat potential from this squad so strike fast and strike even harder.

also did some counting on attacks for that unit and was wondering if i was correct about the amount of attacks from the complete unit which i came to the total amount of 49. with rerolls in the first charge due to the chaplains rule. but please corrent me if im wrong

im not too happy with my casts of the MKVI heads and since im refusing to pay over € 2,00 per head (i already need over 40) im looking for options on how to still get the MKVI heads. i just woke up - major hangover- and decided to have a go at making my own helmets. here's the result of just 10 minutes of sculpting.

Still needs a lot of smoothening out but im geting there.

casting the helmets takes around 30 minutes per 8 and i miscast around half of them due to air bubbles and the detail isnt that stunning and ther is a weird moldline on some of the hemets due to misallignment. of the mold.

So tell me what would you do;

a) keep casting somewhat inferior MKVI's

 break out the GS and sculpt your own

Hooray its time for a little insomnia so it is time to get the creative juices flowing. as i said in my last post i was exploring the possebility of making my own MKVI helmets from standard helmets and a little greenstuff well to be honest i liked the prototype so much i decided to tear off the old heads clean the head sockets and convert me some heads

And after a quick look on the FW site i decided to give ALL my tactcal squads the honours they deserve yes you guessed it right studded shoulderpads. made a prototype of that too

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh593/warhammerpaintservice/raven%20guard/100_3983.jpg

i need to give it a bit less studs tho to make them look better!

also some great news on a personal note: im getting an ipad today!!!! Last xmass gift from my wife

Wow now having finally come out of my sickness, I am glad to see more updates :). Sadly it seems not many people have commented, but I'm loving your Raven Guard, as always you make awesome minis that just make the legion proud. Let the raven fly, so the shadows can follow brother!
