Honda
This was one of those projects where I just started with some different bits and let the creative juices flow. It actually took some time to finally come together and for the most part, I am happy with the end result. I used some of the tips from an article on "From the Warp" to change his countenance a bit. The obvious changes were the filling out of his legs to give him a more "mountainous" stance. Also, I lowered where the shoulders attach to the torso as well as increasing the length of his torso about 2mm. Fairly simple from a modeling perspective, but I like the changes very much and anticipate modeling up a full squad of assault termies in this manner. The shield was just an idea that I wanted to try. It represents a storm shield, but I wanted something that looked a bit different. Then I got the idea of a fabric covering over a shield. So I cut out a piece of plastic in the shape I wanted, covered in GS, then indented the edges with tweezers. I also added the cross design and some battle damage. Here is the WIP shot. So although not perfect, I like how he turned out and expect him to do great things in the future. I hope you all like him. C&C greatly appreciated. The_Excubitors
Great model, I am currently converting a terminator chaplain myself and this is very inspiring! Which crozius is that by the way? Standard Terminator chaplain resin kit? Great job! Motorbike Mike
Good job! I especially like the stance, very 'immoveable object'. Mike. smallvictory
Nice model, I like the effect you achieved on the shield, simple and I understood the fabric/hide idea as soon as I saw it. Honda
Many thanx Brothers, I am glad you have found him worthy. Which crozius is that by the way? 1. A Grey Knight right arm 2. A Black Templar arm holding the power axe 3. Two Black Templar vehicle icons 4. A small piece of plastic rod Basically, cut the hand off of the GK arm, cut off the hand and the power axe from the BT arm. Also nip off the "power" bits on the axe shaft. Glue the hand onto the GK arm. Glue the two vehicle icons together, back to back. Then cut off a length of plastic rod that is the length you want your crozius to be. Then put the arm, rod, and icons together. To strengthen the joins, I drilled holes at each join to give them some strength. I hope that helps.
