Jorus_Shadowmaw
So I plan to write an IA for the White Panthers. All the official info can be seen here: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/White_Panthers#.UKnT2Yc3t2A I thought that I would show you experts what I plan to do and also ask if anyone has any further information on them. Geneseed - Ultramarine successors - Similar tactics to the Star Phantoms (possible successors?) - No gene flaws Beliefs - Believe Him to be a gifted human, not a god - Hate mutants because of a mutant uprising that occurred on Felis before the chapter was formed. - Don't really care about collateral damage - Don't get along with chapters with major gene flaws, with history of coming to blows with space marines of the Black Dragons chapter Homeworld and Fortress Monastery - Felis sort of like the inverse of Nocturne (so cities with weather control shields and outside the cities is almost too cold for the human body to function(almost :))) - Silent avenger types, they keep to themselves on the planet, operating out of a fortress monastery in an alpine forest - Chapter named after the primary predator of the planet, the White Panther, basically an amalgamation of the black panther myths into something rather menacing. Move around in trees(North American Black Panther, may be large black ocelots), are roughly the size of a leopard(Chinese Black Leopards), no official sightings by those outside the chapter, although the corpses of prey have been found (Loosely based on Australian Black Largecat myths), probably sabretoothed and quite furry as they live in a cold environment, use camouflage and hunt large tough skinned mammals (ie failed scouts :P) Training and Initiation - One of the trials is to kill a White Panther(too cliched moving on) - First test is to survive travelling to the fortress monastery as that requires traversing the hostile terrain - Getting to the fortress monastery is difficult as the population of Felis don't know where it is. They only know the location of a statue of a marine out in the wilderness, the statue is inscribed with a clue which leads to a shrine higgh up in the mountains. From there they are given a clue that will lead them to the fortress monastery itself. (a bit like a grim dark version of the amazing race) - Favour marksmanship over close combat prowess - While the chapter does not 'actively recruit' any and all people that make it to the fortress monastery are included in trials I'd like some more thoughts and ideas before I start and any more official info if their is any. Valkyrion
I'd include something about strained relations with the Inquisition, believing them to be mutant sympathisers or some such, after the Eisenhorn incident mentioned on the link, maybe even going as far as believing their chapter master was assassinated by the Inquisition for an interesting subplot. Jorus_Shadowmaw
Well, I do like the idea of an Inquisitorial subplot, although a blanket mistrust may be going too far. Maybe something along the lines of siding with Inquisitor X in an argument over a battle plan, when Inquisitors A, B and C want to spare the mutants. Because the marines are practically outside Inquisitorial juristiction I could see them refusing the other battle plan entirely and thus pissing off 3 inquisitors while gaining the trust of 1,,, I will be ammending the first post with my idea.
