Rules question for Wolf Lords with wolves in drop pods

I was wondering if I attach 2 wolves to my wolf lord and I put him in a drop pod do the wolves take up space. So basically can I have a wolf lord in termie armor w/ 2 wolves and 4 wg in termie armor in the same drop pod or would I only be able to put 2 wg in with the lord.

Thanks for the Help

This is one of those GW inconsistent rules. For example, Azrael's little helmet carrier- the Watcher in the Dark- is an actual model with rule, that doesn't take up any space in a transport, can't be assaulted, wounded, or affected in any way. The Eldar Guardian Heavy Weapon platform doesn't take up any space in a Wave Serpent. In past SW Codex's, the wolves taken as Wargear didn't count, now they do. /shrug Inconsistent.

The watcher was made for the rule of cool not for any practical reason hence why he is invulnerable and takes no room and goes out of the way in assault. He is not an 'actual model with a rule' its a cool representation of wargear. Dont tell me you believe that instead of wearing the helmet, Azrael goes to war helmet-less with the midget of dubious origin near him, there is the inquisition you know. You need not have the model on the table to claim the bonus. Somebody at the studio probably had the idea of sculpting the little dude just to make Azrael more appealing, instead of having the helmet on his armor and say here is a 4+ for the squad.

As far as I know the wolves take part in combat no? Thereby they are a little different.

I don't think it's that inconsistent. In one hand you have two crazy beast, arguably the size of termies, in the other you have a midget you can fit in a backpack. Although I see this coming closer to realism in the new da codex where the watcher gets a wound.
