Help needed - Painting accident

Recommended Posts

I just spent most of today working on 5 Sternguard. Went to spray them with some GW sealer. Now they have this frosty opaque coating on them. Help.

First, can anyone think of any way to fix this aside from repainting them? Because I need them tomorrow and this will be an all nighter?

Second, why did this happen?

Sealer is two years old, but I've used older with no problem.

It's humid, but I've sealed in summer when it is even more humid.

Was I too close? Did I use to much? This has never happened before.

Thanks,

Fast fix: brush on a layer of gloss coat or Satin coat. That usually fixes the frosted effect.

Long fix: Strip them and start over.

Good luck and stay cool, battle brother.

Thank you so much! I have some old Ral Partha sealer that comes out glossy. that seems to be doing the trick.

Should I throw out the GW sealer?

OK gloss helped. The blacks are still "frosty".

Least your problem was just with paint... My superglue had an air bubble in it and splatted all over my freahly painted Sanguinary Guard legs while I was attempting to attach the torso. Tried as fast as I could to get it off but they are :) -ed... Dammit.
