Vengeance... Parade

Let me start by a little Vengeance Crusade narrative...

 

"I watch as my Brothers renew their attack on the treacherous, much hated foe, each Bolter shell, made from the forges aboard the Black Retribution dedicated to ending the life of these Heretics.

Sword Brothrer Volcanus and the Terminators were raking the foe with Storm Bolter fire and Frag Rounds from their Cyclone Missile Launchers, Crusader Halrik directing bolter fire towards a fortified position as he waits for his Multi Melta to power up,

Crusader Castro in the landing above us putting salvo after salvo of Krak Missiles towards the enemy walker ahead of us, Reclusiarch Amand and the nameless Emperor's Champion slaughter their way as they charge forward with the rest of the Assault Squad. Each and eveyone laughing with their vox open to both friend and foe, each and every soul in the entire area could hear our Chapter's mirthless, fearful laughter.

Each Templar has recieved a short but more than sufficient vox transmission from the Eternal Crusader and the High Marshal himself... ++Prepare yourselves, reinforcements are coming.++

Seeing that there are rumors of an upcoming Black Templars update, FAQ-wise or WD-wise, I just want to see the Black and White crossed ball to keep rolling,

since I could say that we could not win on the "Cheesy Tournament List" players, its pretty hard to gain GW attention Tournament wise, which comes to next big thing in GWs competitions, the Golden Daemon,

but since I'm no good much at painting doing an 'eavy metal GD for me is out of the question, so I now resort to the 3rd task to gaining some limelight with GW and that is to start an "Armies on Parade entry" for my Black Templars.

 

I've tried to look at the web for some ideas, but I'm definitely going to be trounced by the featured ones on GWs page, if I think too small.

So, now I plan on starting this thread to ask for some ideas for Armies on Parade: Black Templars, and for those that wish to join me in this new GW Crusade for blitzing the Armiies on Parade with Black and White.

 

So, Brothers will you aid me in this Crusade? Will your mirthless, fearful Laughter join mine as we Crusade through our territories only to meet at the final showdown in the gates of the Golden Deamons armies on Parade?

Will you also bear the torch of Sigismund to win the Crux Terminatus of Victory!?

If so, then let us go then and turn this Parade into a Black Templar Rampage!

For starters I'm thinking of setting up a "Shattered Bridge" type Terrain, wherever I look in the Internet or even on GW page, its either the Army is in a City, a Dense Jungle, on the Road or fighting a Trench/Subterranean War and

even in their base. I've never seen an Armies on Parade entry that is on a Massive Bridge, so I will try that one and use the concept on W40K: Space Marine Game, the Shattered Bridge:

The idea is to have 3 layers for the board, the lowest level which will be an artwork or printwork of either bright "Cloud City" clouds w/ a few cotton wools for texture, or dark Storm Clouds also w/ cotton wools for texture.

2nd layer is the under side of the bridge, which will show support struts and 1-2 pillars which will support the level above and Barricades, this level should be able to fit a Land Raider.

And finally the top layer which will be pockmarked with cracks, barricades a building that was situated at the top of the bride, the top of the support pillar which acts as a tower/bastion explosive clouds and debris.

 

Details on how to properly make these, I still do not have, but the army to place on the terrain I do have. The problem is painting all of them on time.

Here is what I currently have, and will also add another Predator, Land Raider Crusader, a few more Black Templars and a Templar Biker Squad.

Any input would be nice, And can I also ask when the Armies on Parade Competition begins (2013) and when is the deadline for entry.

off to a good start. can we possibly get some more pis of your land raiders? the eagle armor looks impressive on the rightmost featured one.

That is epic.........and a little ambitious, kudos for that. looks like you have the building handled. if you want more battle damage, try shooting it with a BB gun from the back side. it creates little crater like holes that have built in texture from the plastic fracturing.

as for the bridge, get books on architectual bridge design, or failing that, go to a REAL hobby store an check out their model train displays.
