BloodReavers
Looks like Forgeworld might be having a holiday bundle deal, its unknown if its temporary or something new to get people to buy lots of units quickly. They never had something similar for the Imperial Guard offerings. 30 legionaires with bolters and command upgrade for 160 pounds - saving 20 pounds. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/LEGI..._SQUAD_SET.html http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/LEGI...ICAL_SQUAD.html http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/LEGI...ICAL_SQUAD.html 20 terminators with weapons and heavy weapons for 176 pounds - saving 24 pounds. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/LEGI...OWER_FISTS.html http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/LEGI...POWER_AXES.html 2 contemptors and a relic contemptor with weapons for 120 pounds - saving 20 pounds. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/LEGI...UGHT_TALON.html Now would be a great time to buy in bulk and get the most savings. Rune Priest Ridcully
Am certainly going to see if anyone in my gaming club would be interested in splitting any of those. Mortare
The only disappointment is that it is the same 5 marines repeated 6 times, rather than using both of the armour mark sets available to add more variety. But good savings if you aren't fussed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/266720-forgeworld-bundle-sale-going-on/#findComment-3248581 Share on other sites
Jim AMM realgenius
20 terminators with weapons and heavy weapons for 176 pounds - saving 24 pounds. Hmm, when I add that up I get a 20 pound savings... seems like they chose 20 pounds off across the board, making the biggest savings to be had on Contemptors. The only disappointment is that it is the same 5 marines repeated 6 times, rather than using both of the armour mark sets available to add more variety. But good savings if you aren't fussed. Yeah, it would be nice if you could mix-and-match, since they are all the same price. Rune Priest Ridcully
Hence why I'm hoping either three other people want it ans so each pair orders a different one and then swaps 20 or so guys, or if I decide to go crazy, get one myself , find a mate who is getting one himselfm and then swap between us. And I thought not going out that much saved me money....... One thing I did think this could be a good thing to get and then split up between family members to give to you for christmas, (of course with them paying.) .Torch.
I make out the savings as £41.60 for the Power armor models and £43.52 for the Terminators, so its roughly a unit free depending on what you to do. spu00sed
A £20 saving is nice but You don't get to choose the bolter type You don't get legion shoulder pads You don't get the bolt pistols for true WYSIWYG 2 and 3 you can adapt to, but pointing is the deal breaker for me. Rune Priest Ridcully
Must admit, that is an option I wish they introduced to all their infantry sets, as some of their tank kits get the option to swap the regular doors for chapter specific ones, it would be nice to have a similar option. For some reason you got 60 guys, don't know why, now that I think about...... I'm not sure how much worth it is, yes I was planning on ordering 2 boxes for christmas, and this set would allow me to get all the salamanders I need in one go (10 to current squad, 8/9 for a veteran squad, 10 for devestator squads) But the fact you can't choose the bolters, or get the special weapons set as the numbers lend themselves to a tactical squad and a support squad.... It will be interesting to see if any more (ie assault/devestator) sets come out. Evilmerlin
I've just clarified with Forgeworld. No swapping of any items in the bundle deals. WYSIWYG. Rune Priest Ridcully
Me and a mate just ordered one each (he needed to order other stuff as well) fortunatly, I have relatives who will "buy" it off me to give to me for christmas ;) Now all I need to get is the dreadnoughts, plasma cannons for the devestator squad and that's my heresy salamanders mostly done. Khestra the Unbeheld
Are the arms on these guys capable of taking GW shoulderpads in lieu of FW's Legion ones? I'd go for a 30-deep bundle of guys if I knew I could graft GW's pads onto them (and if I knew I was picking a Legion whose markings didn't change). Rune Priest Ridcully
If it's like the non legion old armour marks then it can it can take the GW pads, the alpha legion ones look quite good. Jim AMM realgenius
I've had no trouble with shoulder pads and even other bits like arms fitting the Legion stuff. Dusktiger
the legion variants are identical to the old early mark sets, with minor/major decorative design variants to different parts in each set: the MK2 swaps out the walking legs so instead of the left leg being in mid-movement, the right one is. otherwise, same kit. the MK3 adds a lightning bolt emblem to 3 of the torsos, with 2 having a circle in the middle, the 3rd having a crest. the MK4 uses the heads, shoulder pads, and leg sets from the mk4 assault squad set, as well as the new re-designed backpacks the mk4 commander kit comes with. there's also a new pair of mk4 arms with studs on the forearms. they are still the right scale and proportion to take any bits from all the other GW kits, including chapter specific shoulder pads.
