Chooser of the Slain

So as we all know that Rune Priests are amazing.

That being said, I like to have one in the back with the old guys taking shots at things with his lightning wolves. I take the Chooser of the Slain almost every time and usually use a coin as the representation. It's lame I know, but I don't have a good model to use for it. I would like a raven model, but don't want to buy Njal to rip the bird off.

Any suggestions?

Take a servo-skull from the devastator set, hollow out the face with a dremel or blade and insert one of the wolf skull bits from the SW box. Ta-da!!

You cant do that to a honorable wolf after death :P

Paint the skull gold or bronze so it'll be a metal cast instead of actual bone.

I went a slightly different approach.

That is pretty awesome, but I would really like a raven. They are one of my favorite animals and it goes with the fluff.

Thanks for all the advice, I will look into those models.

Why is using a wolf's skull for a servo skull any different than say, using it as a talisman or sacrificing a wolf to anoint helmets prior to battle (See Imperial Armor 11- This is a tradition in Bran Redmaw's great company)?

I custom made my own using 100% GW parts. I took a Space Wolves Power Sword (yes, with the arm attached) and had it sticking blade end down into a pile of sprues that represent rubble. The arm still attached and sticking up in the air was snipped off with my cutters and painted red to represent dismemberment.

Just think of it, that blade has got to be laced with all sorts of warrior and wolf spirits.

Either that or you're very disturbed? :D

But I approve, sounds awesome if it's done correctly - pictures?

I can't help but think of the last scene in Braveheart when Hamish throws the sword into the field and assume that is how you always deploy it.
