Thanks guys :blush:

The metal is done with GW paints as opposed to the other brands;

1. Leadbelcher

2. Drybrush Ironbreaker

3. Drybrush Runefang Steel

4. Nuln Oil wash (cleaned up, not too sloppy, unless u wanna do more work)

5. Ironbreaker re-highlight

6. (Characters Only) Runefang edge highlight

7. Army Painter Lacquer (honestly, a really important part, evens out the tones) 2 thin layers

I wish I could paint exactly like you do. Very clean, not over the top, but finely executed. You seem to make a decent time versus paintjob thing that could end up in an army. Man, /jealous like you wouldn't believe it.

Makes me a bit sad that your bases do not in any way live up to the model. You need to improve that slightly for it to look like a complete work. Premade bases like microarts seems the obvious choice, but you can do tons yourself. Just a bit uneven ground would help (you know those small pieces of wood mom/girlfriend/wife uses for her potted plants? They look exactly like stones on a mini)

i use a couple layers of corkplate to make the bases not just sand and grass, I have been looking into what I will do with larger bases like on a Contemptor i plan on getting after the holidays (I want the talon of 3, but i alas am too poor)

Grrr, yet another person who has some magical control over the Washes that seems beyond my understanding! I see you and lots of folks work wonders with it, and it goes right into those neat little nooks and crannies and crevices, but with me those places seem to be the last place it wants to go. ;)

I wonder if I can blame that on cruddy brushes, too....

Anywho, thanks. I'll have to see what I can do with this if and when I feel like springing for the AP Lacquer. :lol:

wow Oceangrave...now that is a fine commander there, how did you do the sword? Cause my painting skills aren't top notch and I could always looks for some improvement, can't wait to see more ;). Love your work!

thanks :cuss I try to make him look good, being my main HQ for this army until i build one of my own, and the sword was done with the Reaper ultramarine triad (then add a bit of white at the end) just in alternating strokes, reaper paint blends reallllll easy so the only water i put into the paint is the water that the brush absorbs when u clean it between colors

Thanks man, right now I am working on the rest of the ultrasmurfs for my client, real quick, takes like 20min per model cuz its just easy drybrushing and then metals, tabletop quality, not like the extents I put my own stuff through. (I HATE doing assembly line, it just annoys me for some reason)
