wargame insomniac
That tells me they are not going to be anything like instruments to me. In addition, Noise Marines have been around long enough to have truly weaponized them beyond just cranking up the amp. But... these ones go up to Eleven... Can't really say anything worthwhile after this. It is just worth repeating though!! <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/266831-how-do-you-model-sonic-weapons/page/2/#findComment-3262545 Share on other sites

Calgar 2.0
Well, when my eventual Slaaneshi army is started, the Noise Marines will have Guitars for Sonic weapons, attached to Amps mounted on the backpacks. Leper
These may look a bit "generic" but I was trying to keep them looking vaguely Chaos-y without being over the top. Also, these pictures are bad, and I should feel bad. http://i.imgur.com/ww0uj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VxqZy.jpg It's just a flamer with the tip, top 'hook,' and bottle cut off, and the front bit of a bolter slapped on the front. The front grill was a bit of green stuff I squared off and then ran the end of my pin vise cap over to get a texture on. These weren't done under the best conditions, and the next few will likely be a bit more elaborate. RolandTHTG
I think there a couple things you could do to improve the look of the wires, make them closer together like the right-hand model or better integrate them into the model, but I love the overall look of the gun. Muskie
I have plenty of OOP models NIB. I prefer the original single sculpt then the 2nd Editions, I haven't used any of the upgrade kit models. I bought that kit too. I'm big on variety and planning ahead. I don't get to actually play or paint much anymore. http://www.muschamp.ca/OffSite/noiseMarine.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/266831-how-do-you-model-sonic-weapons/page/2/#findComment-3275768 Share on other sites

Thorian
I have just purchased a bunch of those for my fun painting contest entry, paid a couple of days ago but not heard anything from the company about dispatch, hope they don't take to long as eager to get started. Muskie
The images I posted aren't showing, the image is physically still on the server, maybe there is something wrong with my server or WiFi connection. Those guitar bits look cool, definitely aimed at GW, I'll have to find a link to that website. Forté
Not a fan of the guitar look myself. They'd break all the strings at the first strum Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/266831-how-do-you-model-sonic-weapons/page/2/#findComment-3293269 Share on other sites
AekoldHelbrass
Not a fan of the guitar look myself. They'd break all the strings at the first strum They have plenty of replacement string, and 10 000 years of practice replacing them on the battlefield. That's why their weapons are only salvo 3 instead of salvo 10. Capt_Darius
Love these guitars. Not sure if I'd use them for an all-sonic army, but it would make for a really cool diorama. I'd rather have guns that look like they shoot sound waves rather than the guitars, but this are pretty wild. minionboy
Yeah, I just picked up a load of these guitars! I'll be converting one per squad to be a keytar (just for variety), and the champion will have a microphone mounted in his chest, it's going to be sweeeeet! Dammeron
I don't, as such; Noise Marines have never appealed to me in and of themselves; I'm much more interested in Slaanesh expressed as the Lord of Transgression. To that end, my "Noise Marines" are actually Pain Marines whose bodies have been heavily modified and mutated and whose weapons are hideous, organic protuberances and extensions such as those detailed below: http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b598/ExaggeratedElegy/DSCF0034_zps7e0f81ef.jpg Not exactly a Noise Marine, but his organic gun is a fairly good example of what I'm going for. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b598/ExaggeratedElegy/DSCF0022_zps2e587a5d.jpg The guy on the far right, though unfinished as of yet, is a fairly good example of what I'm generally going for; lots of flesh hooks, spurts of caustic matter and chemical concoctions that flow in place of the marine's blood, etc etc. By the by, you can check out the rest of my Severed Angels by clicking the link in my sig ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/266831-how-do-you-model-sonic-weapons/page/2/#findComment-3300782 Share on other sites

Rune Priest Ridcully
Just an idea, but could it be an idea to model sonic weapons as little sticks with green or blue lights on the end?Muskie: That model is awesome, screams Slaanesh, but also Stotic decadence (oxymoron I know, but that's the vibe :P ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/266831-how-do-you-model-sonic-weapons/page/2/#findComment-3554671 Share on other sites
