So i've been away for to long, the hours of work, n just life in general allowing the hours spent painting and converting have fallen by the way side... Will there be a Winters Advance painting challenge any time soon? I could really use a reason to blow some of the dust out of my workshop and work on something new.

I've been wondering the same, but quietly biding my time before saying anything since I likely won't be able to participate until closer to the new year due to work.

My own availability aside, it would probably make sense to wait til after <insert holiday here> and whatever gifts might be acquired from said holiday, that way if anyone gets anything new, Winter's Advance will make for an excellent reason to get them painted asap.

I painted most of my excess Wolves during for the DA challange, so i wont be able to contribute much.

Well.... what if the parameters for this advance are slightly different, considering the changes in 6E and allies/battlements?

No allies, whats the point, if you want to paint allies enter them in the respective armies painting challange.

I figured that argument might occur, just felt like putting it out there... especially if the allies are painted like counts-as wulfen or Fang defenses, etc (aka BA DC or guard)

We'll since the winters adavance isn't exactly competing with anyone.. I'd hope we don't use the same rules as the DA painting challenge. having to tally pts and all that nonsense.. some of us aren't kids who can knock out 70 miniatures in a few weeks.. Between work and our own kids this is a hobby that we should enjoy. Personally i'd prefer that you simply pledge what you think you can get painted and so long as you meet your vow it's a success. Not looking to compete with how much can be painted no matter how badly... If someone wants to vow allies  not? Or a wolves defense line or some sort of terrain.. I say go for it. I hear all the time it's your army do what you want with it... well it's your vow...

I agree with this view. It's hard for me to find time to paint, between work and school.
