Daemon Allies

I want to create a Daemon allies list for my C:CSM army and need a little help figuring out where to start. The allies detachment does not need to be fluffy, but I would like it to fit with the way I play.

Wondering if people have any suggestions.

The army I play currently consists of 2 units of a CL on a bike, chaos bikers, 4 squads of noise marines with Rhinos, a unit of obliterators, and a defiler. I often tweak it based on the opponent I am facing, with dakkapreds for facing orks, laspreds for facing Tau, a DP for when I am facing IG, a bunch of Spawn for when I want to mess with someone, etc.

The way it runs is simple to understand, I attack with the bikers as soon as I can, and advance with the noise marines to a point where they can disembark and use the Rhinos as mobile cover. The real hard part for me is with heavy support, it's not always getting the job done and I need something a bit sneakier. For instance, the defiler rarely hits anything, it's more a distraction than anything else. The obliterators are good for coming in via deepstrike and blowing up a vehicle or two, but not too much else. Opponents focus on the NMs more than anything else, which is what I want them to do - I would just like to use the points I spend on the defiler and the obliterators more effectively.

What I am really looking for is an ally that can do 3 things:

- provide some shooty offense with a chance to damage TEQ and AV. I think this is flamers.

- provide a tarpitting cc unit that can act as a flank. Basically, when one of the Rhinos goes down, I want some small units to offer additional protection against the charge for NMs. I only need them to tie up opponents for a couple rounds, not looking for anything capable of doing serious damage. I think this is plaguebearers.

- provide an HQ who (preferably) is a FMC, poses a serious cc threat and act as a bullet magnet. I think this is a bloodthirster.

Not sure about the synergy between any of these units or how it would play out on the board. Coming to the experts for help.

There is not a lot of synergy there, per se, but the roles of all of those daemon units is quite different, so that is ok.

Flamers are amazing. Unless you are doing a mono-Nurgle list, take some.

Plague bearers are great at both objective holding or contesting, since they never. Ever. Die.

The only thing I am not crazy about is the bloodthirster. One thing that I am having to address with my own daemons is that really killy assault monsters, like greater daemons or princes, have a hard time. Assault is just not a very efficient way to kill the enemy in 6th, and single model units are forced to engage in challenges (which can be a pretty big hindrance if your foe exploits it). I also think bloodthirsters lack assault grenades, so again, if your opponent is canny, that can be a pretty big liability.

A relatively cheap shooty herald might serve you better, and then you can use those saved points on your primary detachment.

Sounds like you're set on flamers.

For HQ, I would take Tzeentch Herald on Disc. Attach to Flamers. If you take 5 Flamers, and deepstrike them using the Herald as the center point, I can usually get all 5 flamer templates to hit, as well as heralds daemonic gaze.

Plague Bearers are good objective holders.

Screamers are good anti-tank and TEQ. They are fast too, being Jetbikes.

Heavy Support would be Daemon Prince. At 200 points, you get a flying monstrous creature with mark of tzeentch and bolt of tzeentch. Good for taking out tanks and hurting MEQ. Vector strikes power armor and skyfire bolt at flyers. (Didn't notice any anti-air in your said list.)
