JamesG89
Basically after painting up some of my Ork Nobs I came to the conclusion that the painting style on them didn't in any way match up with the style I'd painted my Swords Of Truth in. Now this fact coupled with the fact that i preferred the new style I'd seemed to have picked up meant that I now don't really like the Swords of Truth that I'd painted. Now before I decide if I'm going to repaint everything I've grabbed an old marine model and painted it up in a new way which in my opinion look a lot more professional and cleaner than the Swords. Anyway here is a bit of background on the chapter as well as the test model. The Crimson Penance are a Dark Angels successor chapter who believe that the fallen have left a irredeemable scar on the chapter. Now although it is known that all the unforgiven are repenting for the past of the chapter the Crimson Penance have taken ti the repentance with a frankly worrying ferocity. Their battle brothers will spend every hour not training or fighting in their chambers flagellating themselves for their chapters sins, using their own flowing blood to adorn their armour with pieces of Imperial scripture important to them and the chapter. Their armour appears very ill kept and pitted with no chapter colours as such and only bone coloured shoulders pad edges and backpack exhausts and squad and chapter markings shown (though these in turn are generally incredibly scratched and chipped). In truth however they do care greatly for their equipment but see the process of chapter colours as unnecessary after all their not going to stop a bullet, needing only the metal itself to protect them. Brother marine Zartan of the Crimson Penance third crusade. http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/JamesG_89/testmarine1.jpg http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/JamesG_89/testmarine2.jpg http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/JamesG_89/testmarine3.jpg As you can see from the miniature the Chapter symbol is the Dark Angels wings in a crimson colour with the sword point covered in the blood of the actual marine as per the last stage of the brother receiving his armour. As for more of the background I've yet to come up with that but will add bits as I update. Not much but I hope you like it anyways. Also sorry for the background in the photos it gave the clearest photos.
