rookster
hey guys got a quick question for any one who owns the DV set or just the Chap, how easy do you think it would be to remove the backpack from cape and what ever else is attached to the back piece? I don't play DA or any of their successors so the cape is useless to me... but the back pack is awesome looking http://www.totalwargamer.co.uk/blog/wp-con...ain-sprue-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267261-dv-chaplin-bits/ Share on other sites

I don't play DA or any of their successors so the cape is useless to me... but the back pack is awesome looking http://www.totalwargamer.co.uk/blog/wp-con...ain-sprue-1.jpg That looks difficult. Based on the image, there'd be a lot of fiddling with the backpack's lower (square) and upper (bulb) vents. You'd have to remove the bulk of the cloak first and then carefully file away everything non-backpack, and those square vents especially are quite fragile. An easier option might be to remove EVERYTHING except the core of the packpack (the part with the skull on it) and the lava lamps (or whatever they are), and then cut up a spare backpack and reconstruct the pack you want. Not worth it, I think, not even for a one-off bit for a character. Peredyne
hmmm might pick it up any way just for the head, base and right arm You are aware that is a limited edition piece? It would be easier to remove all the DA insignia, honestly. Grotsmasha
I would say that attempting to seperate the backpack from the cloak will ruin both pieces and render them useless. You'd be much better getting some fine grit sandpaper and sanding off the DA symbols. puck
There are several members of the forum that have cut or sanded off the DA icons with great success. To truely remove the cape you'd also have to resculpt the shoulders as part of the cape attaches to the chest of the model. facmanpob
The backpack is just a normal SM backpack with a skull on it. The only thing that makes it different are the incense burner things on the top and the attched cape. The burners are easily removable and transferable to another backpack. That would seem easier than trying to remove the cape ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267261-dv-chaplin-bits/#findComment-3255452 Share on other sites
