Betrayer

Just had a lovely email off BL to tell me I can get my hands on this book (or ebook in my case) next week.

Have to say excited is an understatement since we get the technical follow up to Know No Fear and the direct sequel to Butcher's Nails and for those lucky enough to have read it, Aurelian

Is it just the ebook and hardback version that is out in December? I thought the release date had been pushed back to March 2013.

EDIT: Actually nevermind, just read on ADB's blog that it's only the ebook and hardback. I wish SO much I could get this in hardback but it would screw up my HH books, can't have 20-odd paperbacks and a single hardback.

Yea I have to agree with keith an Clewz that it's probably another demonic apotheosis then getting killed unless Vulcan shows up out of the blue. At this point I want to say that he is the only primarch who's fat is murky both in the HH novel story line and the old fluff. Everyone else lives till Terra.

Well we know that Lorgar doesn't ascend until after the Iron Cage... so what is meant here is either Angron's ascencion or something else entirely.

I just hope that IF it is talking about Angron he will get to do more in his daemon form than Fulgrim in Angel Exterminatus did.

But they are rebuilding the Heresy. How much of the old fluff is now vailid? It would be a little sudden to have a Primarch assend to Daemonhood. This book isn't even really suppose to be revolving around Angron. And how boring would it be if the new Horus Heresy was an exact template of the old fluff.

It's A-D-B the plot will twist and turn like a twisty turny thing and be so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel :D

Let's face it A-D-B came up with the plot line that showed Lorgar to be not present at the battle for Calth and provided the reasoned argument that fitted this into the existing IP at the time. So I guess he's got a pretty good grasp of working new twists into the IP as it stands without breaking it, so this one should be a good un...

Well, I seem to remember the old background saying that Angron was the first Primarch to ascend, and that he was a daemon prince when he reached Terra. I can only assume that this book will feature his ascension.

Does Betrayer take place before Angel Exterminatus then?

I'd say that they take place roughly at the same time.

I'm more interested if Betrayer takes place before, after or during Fear to Tread. In a discussion of Fear to Tread Dembski-Bowden mentioned that Amit was unavailable for Betrayer, but the end of Fear to Tread and Unremembered Empire rumors left me thinking that Lorgar and Angron come to screw everything after Sanguinius joins Big G.
