Iron Wolves - my new wolfpack

Long time lurker finally got around to signing up. I've recently returned to the hobby after a 10yr+ absence and am committed to rebuilding my Space Wolves for 6th!

Not much to show here yet, but I'll be putting up pics once I've stripped and started to rebuild my units up. I have mostly 2nd ed figs that will be getting attacked with greenstuff to further 'wolf' them to match the current models, as well as somewhat true-scale them (at least make them a little taller to fit with the current figs).

I've picked Egil's Iron Wolves as my flavour of wolves, as my army centrepiece is my 1st edition Land Raider. Love the idea of a battle-worn heavily customised raider and will be bulking it up a little along with adding plenty of extra details.

Here's how my list shapes up today based on what I've dug out of storage and added to from GW recently:

Land Raider (1st ed)

24x Grey Hunters (likely split to 3x squads of 8)

Plasma, Melta and Flamer

8x Wolf Scouts

Plasma Pistols & Plasma

5x SkyClaws

Mostly just because I love the models!

~10x Swiftclaws

With attack bike

~10x Long Fangs

Mostly ML's and Plasma

~4x Terminators (if I can green stuff the old tiny termis up to current scale!)

1x Dreadnaught (Bjorn, but likely to be modelled up as generic)

Plus a selection of random Wolf Guard, the old Ragnar, Iron Priest and Njal models and a couple of Wolf Priests. They'll all be going under the blade & green stuffed to get some unique flavour. Somewhere out of this I've got to model up Egil as well...

Pics coming soon!

It's a combo of 1mm plasticard and green stuff on the legs, mostly just green stuff for the rest. Will use more plasticard on my metal minis for stability.

Oh and in response to the next post through the wonders of editing...this example is a modern mini used for scale-testing. The 2nd eds are all metal and need more aggressive resizing, as they are much shorter. I'll get a scale shot up of this guy painted next to the 2nd ed metal guys to show you just why I have to do this - the old metal guys are like children next to them...

So here's my WIP for my true-scaling that I'll be applying to all the marines in my army...a boost to the legs, abdomen and neck. Painted version of this incoming as my test model...

First off welcome back to the Fang!!

Second of all that looks really cool!!  I love true scale stuff just looks so much more regal!

Now to get myself educated...

You said 2nd Ed mini and this is plastic.  I am no expert but I always thought 1st Ed and 2 Ed was metal minis (At least I have a bunch and that is what I remember).  Around 3rd Ed is when plastic wolves started coming out or so I thought.  So anyone who is clear care to straighten me out?

Thanks in advance!!

Ok, here's my first paint test (finally). Missing paint chip weathering, base and some dust weathering on the legs (waiting on my Forgeworld delivery).

And here's some perspective of how the 'true scaling' looks compared to regular 6th ed, plus the 2nd ed (mk6) minis.
