DV termies help

Hello, Im planning a GK army and Im going to kit my terminators with thunder hammers and halberds and Im going to use the Terminators from the Dark Vengeance box for this because they're awesome and cheap, anyway I ran into a problem, what to do with the powerfist? GK termies dont get powerfists and using the PF as count-as hammers is stretching things a bit, the only left handed hammers are meant for power armour and last time I checked power armoured arms look weird on TDA models..Even if I give termies a hammer and storm bolter on one hand they're still left with a powerfist, only left arms for termies that I've found dont come with hands since they're meant for storm shields..

 

Should I leave the powerfists? Should I change them? Has anybody converted the DV termies to give them hammers? I need ideas because I've run out of them..

I think your best bet would be to take the whole arm, shoulder pad and all, off and completely replace it, rather than trying to swap/convert just the fist. You'll then need to scour your bitz box or ebay for appropriate replacements.

For the amount of time and money you'll spend on bits and converting the termies, you would probably be better off buying the GK boxed set!

 

Take off the storm bolter arm. Cut off the storm bolter and attach to the back of the power fist

 

Put on a thunder hammer arm.

 

Done.

I went ahead and started modifying all of my DV terminators to use magnetized lightning claws. If you look closely, you can also see that I have two magnets on the base to store the extra arm pieces when the unit is in storage.
