maverik_girl
How goes the good fight sons of Russ? What has everyone here at the Fang has been doing lately? Planing on buying anything this holiday for your wolf army? I've notice new posters here while lurking. Feel free to introduce yourselves :o also am I the only one who thinks its a bit silly with how from previous editons, our true grit doesn't really help out with certain weapons being two-handed only in 6th editon? I mean fenris folk are given an axe to grasp as children... And a mere space marine like the sky warriors need to hold one with two hands? LMAO that's just silly in my opinion! Squark
I'm hoping to get a pack of Wolf Guard Terminators or Thunderwolf Cavalry, although I won't know until Christmas what kits my parents picked out (I also play necrons, so it's possible I may just get Xenos stuff). Haven't gotten a lot of games in lately due to not knowing where the 40k players on campus meet*, although now that I'm going home for winter break, I'll be able to start playing again. Hopefully I can start posting battle reports here. *I know there are multiple 40k players on campus (3 of them were in my dorm last year), but I have no idea where they meet or how to get in contact with them. thor1234
Ive been painting what is already a fearsome great Company under Thor, but mainly I'm preparing for a campaign my friend and I will be playing from the new year onwards, one that we will be turning into a regular blog here ;) also on your axe query I assume you're referring to the Space wolf box set with the double handed axe no?? IMO the wolf guard just likes his axe so much he walks around hugging it..... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267378-how-goes-the-good-fight/#findComment-3256184 Share on other sites

Loken86
I'm planning on making a second attempt at making a 13th company force led by my wolf lord Charon Bloodwolf (count as Bran Bloodmaw) so there be plenty of wulfen big and small to come just need to get some more parts. jester262
welp, between all the holiday stuff going on I've been working on getting my army up to snuff for 6th edition. Which includes adding plasma to my squads and painting drop pods. Still need one more pod and a defense line. Hopefully I'll be ready soon ") Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267378-how-goes-the-good-fight/#findComment-3256387 Share on other sites
Wulfebane
Got a temp job for the holiday season that's been working me 72hrs a week, so barely enough time for sleep let alone hobbying. Before that though, I've been working on a DIY allied chapter to contrast my wolves as I haven't deviated from the grey armored Vikings in over 15 yrs and wanted to add some color to the mix. greysquigg
I'm spending my time converting a load of old 1992 space wolf models a friend gave me.. Also, my missus has bought me a surprise space wolf model... not sure which one yet! raiders13
I just got into 40k back at the start of summer. I picked Space Wolves because they looked cool. Now after reading Battle of the Fang and the first Omnibus I love their story. Loki-LaughingDeath
I seem to be in a slump at the moment. I am winning, and while that has been nice, there really haven't been many challenges and due to my meta I am oh soo tired of looking at Power Armor.....even my own beloved wolves. I have been trying out new builds and doing different things but the simple fact is there are too many marine players loyalist and traitor flavors and I am sick of it. Now don't get me wrong, I will never sell off my wolves, but I really want to try another play style and Russ forgive me for saying this but the Doped out BDSM eldar are catching my eye at the moment.... MeatGrinder
Im pretty sure I've posted teh same comment about 20 times in the last few months, my one thats basically a TDA/SS Lone Wolf circlejerk. Other than that I've finished my second drop pod, building more terminators, I have 15 of the wolves now, and Im waiting for Winters Advance to paint some Grey Hunters. Rift Blade
Haven't played alot latley as work & life are demanding alot of attention. Hopefully in a little bit I'll have time to play some. A bunch of us try to play an Apoc game this time of year. Saving my unfinished models hoping to hopefully participate the Winter's Advance. Watched it for the last couple of years & love it. And yes, I agree Mav Girl, seems a little silly to me after all these yrs. Guess it's that or we have to fightwith one arm behind our backs! LOL!!! Trying to save my hobby money for the Heresy book with our Wolves in it & maybe even some of the new models. Like the Cataphracti & Jet Bikes & hoping to see some new models for us when they do the book. Well, one can hope anyways. -Volsung-
Hey! Man, college quarter is going on so I haven't been able to post, but I lurk anonymously. I've been saving up my money from campus jobs and blowing some of it on metal space wolf miniatures while they are still around. Managed to collect Lukas the Trickster and a genuine, mint Games Day Wolf Priest!! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267378-how-goes-the-good-fight/#findComment-3256769 Share on other sites
Auretious Taak
How goes the good fight sons of Russ? What has everyone here at the Fang has been doing lately? Planing on buying anything this holiday for your wolf army? I've notice new posters here while lurking. Feel free to introduce yourselves ^_^ also am I the only one who thinks its a bit silly with how from previous editons, our true grit doesn't really help out with certain weapons being two-handed only in 6th editon? I mean fenris folk are given an axe to grasp as children... And a mere space marine like the sky warriors need to hold one with two hands? LMAO that's just silly in my opinion! Just model your space wolves with Dane Axes - you know, 2 handed danish axes from the viking age that were the height of personal death dealing tailored to the individual being the height of ones' shoulder (fun in re-enactment circles, mines almost 2 metres tall haha!). Then you'll represent the rules with the fluff. They are strength 4 base after all, make that axe big. I've been more inclined to the collecting side of things in the past year, not many games under my belt thanks to other things chewing up time but that's cool too. When i say collecting, I mean rogue trader era only models, so 1980's. I'm at all of the 1988 and 1989 catalogue of space marines, multiple of each vehicle as well, and close on 130-140 rtb01 space marines in various forms including 40 or so brand new on sprue. lol. Oh, and the rt era Tyranids, have just acquired the unrelased Tyranid protonid as well which for many players is the holy grail of Nid collecting and as I've also got 3 of the Dominators including boths culpts and sitting on 100 of the Hunter Slayer Termagants...yeah, collecting, like a boss. Forté
Good question Skadi. Been busy selling stuff to the general public it the UKs last chain entertainment shop and wasting my spare time on CoD. That's without trying to make sure my kids grow up more stable than I am. Got hold of some micro marbles and some Vallejo Grey Pumice so looking forward to experimenting with those. Got to say there seems to be a lot of quiet time at the Fang these days. Can't think when I last brawled. Here's a barrel of ale and some elk for all. Welcome to the new blood. MaveriK
Allot of new wolves indeed! I've been out of commission ever since my emergency surgery. It's been a rough few months and my health is finally slowly getting back to normal. I apologize for my absence and the lack of updates running the gauntlet. For the first half of the year I've been bed ridden. Then surgery... and now just learning how to walk and use those everyday muscles again. Anyway, I'll be starting up the Winter's Advance soon! I'm hoping to get some painting done for the new year. It's good to be back on the forum and here at the Fang. I hope everyone is doing good. It has been quiet here at the Fang, and I have been lurking when I can from my iPhone when my meds would allow me to stay awake LOL Not much on buying more wolf stuff on my end. Just catching up on painting. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267378-how-goes-the-good-fight/#findComment-3257187 Share on other sites
Aqui
Allot of new wolves indeed! I've been out of commission ever since my emergency surgery. For the first half of the year I've been bed ridden. Then surgery... and now just learning how to walk and use those everyday muscles again. ;) Having had surgery last year (and waiting for more, although in both cases not serious enough to be bed ridden for six months! :( ), I understand how frustrating that must have been. Hopefully, you'll be back to good health soon enough :D Amongst all of the stuff I found in my Parents attic a while ago that I didn't know I still had from around twenty years or so ago, I found: Space Wolf Rune Priest in Terminator armour (basecoated) Space Wolf Grey Hunter (painted) Leman Russ (without Freki and Geri unfortunately :( ) Two Terminators with Cyclone M/L and two with TH and SS painted as Wolf Guard (who were in the process of being stripped and were still in the jar I was stripping them in! I haven't dared see what their condition is yet...) Whilst I don't run a Space Wolf army any more (but never say never, the call might take hold of me once more :P ), I was figuring on getting the above plus some other stuff painted so that I have a small group for small games (500-750 pts). I'm not sure about stripping the Grey Hunter and Leman Russ (despite the paint jobs being old and showing it) as they hold a sentimental value (to a degree). I might just (re)paint some other stuff in Space Wolf colours first and see if they inspire me enough to repaint them. When I do, it'll be grey-grey than blue grey as I always preferred the darker colour, although I'm not sure which Great Company to place them yet. I'm currently reading Vash113's excellent stickied topic, so I'll make a decision soon enough. All I do know is that it won't be Ragnar's GC. Don't get me wrong, I like Ragnar, but far too many players at the local GW have his GC; I'd prefer another, or create my own. I've gotten a bit bored of always winning with my Tau, so I'm thinking of returning to my Space Wolves and see how my Logan's Heroes all-TDA army will do in 6th. I also intend to see if I can make a semi-competitiveish 2000 point mech list and say it is the Ironwolf company. After all, no one expects mech anymore, so it might do well ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267378-how-goes-the-good-fight/#findComment-3257779 Share on other sites
