Time for some Dark Vengeance

After having heard what the new 40k box was to be called, I immediately thought of this:

That aside, I've decided to start a new log that'll primarily contain the armies of the Dark Vengeance set. I'll be doing the Dark Angels 4th Company and an Emperor's Children army as well as the occasional Grey Knight. The CSM will be more prominent in the beginning thanks to their codex having been released while the Dark Angels will be on the back burner a bit for the time being and the GK will pop in every now and then as I finish the army.

 

I felt that how GW painted Lucius wasn't quite what I was looking for and wanted him to have a more Pre-Heresy feel to his armour so I decided to paint him in more traditional Emperor's Children colours:

Here's a test mini I converted for my Noise Marines with Sonic Blasters.

I also plan to have 2-3 large squads of Cultists, and since I think pink is under represented in 40k, and because they're Slaanesh worshipers, I decided to paint the first squad of cultists like so:

Most of the cultists, of at least this squad, will have the OI-C markings on them. I think it makes them look a bit more like an organized faction while also looking like the Slaanesh symbol. Mostly thought it'd be a different way to represent the MoS.

 

Hope to have more cultists and Lucius done fairly soon so I can have a go at painting some Noise Marines and the Daemon Engines I have sitting in their boxes.
