Crusade era or Heresy era?

Emperor's Furor

I have a Rogue Trader Era Chaplain that I really want to use for a Crusade/Heresy Era legion but I'm struggling to decide what legion to use it for.

I've narrowed it down to three choices.

1. Crusade era Word Bearers: - I've always been taken with crusade era legions, the only problem is I getting the feeling the heresy is more popular and more games based on the heresy will happen and my Word Bearers showing up at the siege of terra or anything after Istvaan V may look stupid.

2. Heresy Word Bearers: - painted red with silver trim and potentially able to make use of daemons and special units like the Gal Vorbak. However wouldn't it be to much like a normal 40k Word Bearers force and not very unique where as a grey armoured Word Bearers force would be?

3. Blood Angels Crusade/Heresy: - They had a form of chaplains called Wardens so it's possible, but the model has a book on it which I'm not sure they bore and the book screams Lectitio Divinitatus or Book of Lorgar which is why it's my third option at the moment.

So what do you think? I know I dwell on things, but I want to make sure I get it right.

Ok, I think I can discount Blood Angels, as they won't be around for ages and to be fair since they are one of the "popular" legions that doesn't appeal to me. Do you think the Word Bearers are unique enough though after Istvaan V? To me they seem to just morph into the 40k version of them because there's no change in their colour scheme then, where as the likes of World Eaters, Death Guard, Sons of Horus and to a lesser extent the Emperor's Children are pretty unique to that time period. I guess if I do decide to a heresy era legion then chaplains would be ok in any of those other legions which opens some doors.

Edit: It's just that book keeps making me think of Word Bearers..

I've seen very few Blood Angel Legion armies. They have been popular in 40K as a Chapter because they've had perennial SM+1 Codex lists.

The Legion I feel like I see done the most is Emperor's Children. But they do look snazzy in purple.

I think the Traitor Legions are going to be more popular though, simply because they haven't existed, game wise, until recently.

Myself, I'd do Heresy/Late Crusade, but I'm also waiting to see if FW will do a cool approximation of the Praetor pattern. II-V have never really grabbed me. Way too many inflexible plates on areas you'd want flexibility, and way too much exposed cabling.
