Nightmare84 Posted December 13, 2012 Share Posted December 13, 2012 Starting a little blog here with hopes it will keep me a little more focused on one army. My aim is to create a army or two rather. First being a stranded tactical squad looking suitably battered and then deathwing element which will be the relief force. I'm taking a bit of my own twist on fluff, my Vindicators will be painted up as part of the deathwing side. The only thing is that the cyclone seems (to me) to be angled too skywards. I agree with Master Isiah, the Vindicators also look great in bone and the Cyclone launcher also looks a little funny to me, regardless of the reason. Look forward to more! I thought about using the Space Wolf cloak on my TH/SS version, but I never thought about fitting a lion's head onto that. Very nice conversion idea. The only draw back is , that you didn't drill out the stormbolters and it jumps out of the pics, do that and that will be the finishing touch. Otherwise awesome stuff. Probably snow to be honest. Belial will get some loving soon. I didn't make the cut off for my deathwing shoulder pads from forge world so he is next in line after this unit. Not so sure I I will do a tabard now, rumors seem to point at him only being able to use sword in the next dex so might just keep this guy as a champ As for gun barrels. A bit hard to see details though, because the lighting for the photo is a bit dark, but the color coverage seems very nice and it appears there is a lot of good shading going on as well. I intended to paint skull in my DV models silver but I guess I have to reconsider ;) I'd add some additional layers to green tabard to lighten it a bit though. Oh and drill the guns! I could totally see him crested by one of those braziers you find on the Legion of the Damned or the 140x140[ekm].jpg"]head of the one guy in the Empire Flagellants kit (which is a could kit for bits by the way). head some handing skulls around it, badda bing, badda boom. One I may have to steal :P Also, good to see Belial make an appearance. Seeing him unpainted gives me a better idea of the overall mini. Also looks better with the arms repositioned slightly.
