Jacobius
Heya folks, I'm about to take the plunge and attempt to paint my first minis in the near future. 2 questions: How many brushes of what size do I need as a minimum? (my thoughts are a "fine detail" a "general" and a "drybrush" brush) Where's a good place to get them online or otherwise bearing in mind I live north of Brisbane? What am I looking for in terms of price and quality? Are the GW ones worth getting? Cheers, -J- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267803-building-my-painting-kit-in-australia/ Share on other sites
The Sound of Machines
Hey mate, I'm in Sydney - I know your pain! Look, with brushes, different things work for different people. I like art shop brushes, they are cheaper and generally better quality. If you can only get your hands on GW ones, then use those. As for how many, as many as you can get! Start with a few basic ones (fine detail, standard, wash brush - in the GW sizes) and build your collection from there. On ya mate. Jacobius
Cheers for that. Was doing some basic sums tonight and, just to get 3 paints, primer, brushes, glue, and cutters and a knife is gonna be $125 from GW. On the bright side, the GW brushes are a lot cheaper than these bad boys but, I assume, are of inferior quality? Might start with the GW brushes, get SOME skills with teh paintz0rs then upgrade. -J- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267803-building-my-painting-kit-in-australia/#findComment-3266612 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
Try looking for an Arts and Crafts store in your local Westfield, I've been getting super fine brushes for $3, with approximate durability to GW brushes.
