Viridia
Howdy there folks, I'm looking for a decent, non-incredibly expensive paint stripper that would work on both pewter and plastic models in the UK. Is there anyone out there who knows if such a thing can be had? (Please don't suggest something I'd have to import. This is something I want to be able to nip into town for and buy.) Olis
I can do this - two products that you should be familiar with, as a UK resident, are Dettol and Fairy, right? Well, the original Dettol (the brown stuff) and Fairy Power Spray (the stuff that sorta bubbles up when applied) are pretty much what you're looking for. Now, both are plastic friendly but I personally prefer the Power Spray because you can spray it on direct and leave it half an hour instead of leaving the Dettol to soak in for an afternoon. It also is friendlier to your skin than Dettol (which ever so slightly dissolves the top most dermal layer of your skin). And a major plus is that you can rinse the victim model with water, whereas with Dettol it has to be rinsed in more Dettol first. What I'm saying is; although Dettol is decent stuff, Fairy Power Spray is better. Oh yeah, it also smells nicer, too. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267874-good-paint-stripper/#findComment-3262490 Share on other sites

For plastic minis you really can't beat it ^_^ It's very quick. Not sure how long it takes for pewter one though. Not sure if the offer is still on, but Wilkinsons had Power spray on offer (I don't work for them, but it's worth checking out :o ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267874-good-paint-stripper/#findComment-3262504 Share on other sites
