mk iv command

Hi, I'm thinking about doing some conversions (specifically, a wolf lord with a thunder hammer and either wolf claw or storm shield, and a rune priest). I was thinking of using the FW mk iv command set (with the captain and the standard bearer) as a base. I had a few specific questions for anybody who has these models (if you have any pics, they would be greatly appreciated!)

 

1) Are the 4 arms relatively interchangeable? Could you put the captain's arms on the standard bearer and vice versa?

 

2) How hard would it be to cut the crest from the helm in the captain's hand?

 

3) How "exposed" is the forearm/hand/bolt pistol on the standard bearer's cloaked arm? can you see the hand from all angles? I'm thinking of putting a thunder hammer in that hand, but it might not work if the hand has cloak behind it. Alternatively, do you think it would be possible to replace the forearm/hand with a wolf claw? How thin is the cloak and would it handle being dug into a little bit to make room for a larger fist?

I recently bought the command set.

 

And even though you follow uncouth seed of Russ I will still help you.

 

 

Haha all kidding aside, I'm a DA player and i thin the set is great for kitbashing.

 

Let me see if i can help u out.

 

1. Yes, all the arms can be interchanged

 

2. The helm in the captains hand is pretty well in there. I suppose u could remove it, but u might need th greenstuff it to fix the damage that would show up in the flow of the robe.

 

3. The bolt pistol is in there good, but digging it out isn't a problem. I did it with no hang ups. The problem is unless ur arm bends forward at the elbow u'll have to cut into the cloak for the pommel of the hammer to go throught.

 

Anyway it's all very doable.
