playedsincedaemonhunters
Autocannon Dreadnoughts. Should put a Damper on their day. Or a dreadknight shunting works also. But i would do that till youve weakened their lines somewhat Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267969-advice-requested/#findComment-3264197 Share on other sites

Don't Deepstrike, you'll just feed your units to his gun-line. If he's even halfway competent, he'll screen them with Kroot or Fire Warriors so you can't even charge (assuming you survive the drop). What you wanna do is bring a Raven, load it with a unit of 6 Terminators (one with Bro Banner), the other 5 with hammers. Blow away his screening units with your massed dakka (storm bolter and psycannon from the rest of your force). Once you are confident you have an attack angle that will contact his Broadsides (ie there are no closer units you'll have to charge), send in the Raven in hover mode and drop them from the assault ramp into his face. Autocannon Dreadnoughts. Should put a Damper on their day. Or a dreadknight shunting works also. But i would do that till youve weakened their lines somewhat PsyDreads won't do much, he outranges you (72") and he has 2+ armour against your AP4 autocannons. DK is going to get shot down on the way in, especially if he takes plasma on the secondary system (which is very common when facing Marines). Reclusiarch Darius
Considering the price you pay for the Raven, you'd want it to be that durable. It is only AV12 after all. DK1
Remember they do have a 2+ armor save so CC alone will not grant a solid kill unless you bring hammers, from a GK perspective either volume of fire, psycannons or StormRaven with a plasma cannon is my answer. DK1
to add one hammer could kill 3 xv-88s on one charge Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267969-advice-requested/#findComment-3265833 Share on other sites
BrotherWasted
They're Tau. Broadsides have 2+ armor but don't have many wounds to go around. Any Unit in our Codex can take out Broadsides and Psycannons deal with the rest of the army. What are you afraid of? Any Unit in our Codex can take out Broadsides and Psycannons deal with the rest of the army. What are you afraid of? Im afraid of nothing, i dish out "greater good" with a swing of my blade and the "setting" of nails with my hammers. however under that Tau fire cast and ranged superiority and mobility we as Grey Knights have one answer, we break gun lines like drivers break the speed limit on a highway. Play defensive and take a StormRaven, get 10 purifiers with a libby or GM w/psy,rad nades...smash the line. Worse case take a Callidus assassin and hit them on arrival. Reclusiarch Darius
I guess the best piece of advice is 'get into melee quick'. Tau like a shooting war, it lets them trade better and play to their one strength. If you get up in their grill early and hit multiple units in melee, they are screwed. As Tau player, my games either go 'yay, shot him down to size' or 'he made melee, its over'. Allies might change that now, but pure Tau fold once you break their gunline.
