Jolemai
How long ago did they stop selling this model? Can't seem to find it anywhere now. I gather everyone just kitbashes their bike-born Chaplains these days? The_Chaplain
How odd, it's no longer available on Games Workshop's online store. Could this mean a finecast remake? A new model entirely? The only real choice bit on that model was the bike faring with the two smaller headlights; I'd imagine you could find one on sites like ebay if you looked hard enough. Chaeron
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/36044090572...=sbar&cbt=y Seems to be plenty there - albeit you'd need to strip them! fivepointedstar
Its not a good model anyway. So I'm hoping the new one will be better. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267998-chaplain-on-bike-model/#findComment-3264096 Share on other sites
awfulawful
I used the power fist chaplain model. This guy... Cut him in half at the belt with a razor saw, patched up his waist with some greenstuff and stuck him on a pair of bike legs. Put a regular bike arm in place of the fist, and spiffed up his bike with loads of purity seals and such. Added bonus, used the legs for a veteran sergeant and his power fist for another. The only real choice bit on that model was the bike faring with the two smaller headlights; I'd imagine you could find one on sites like ebay if you looked hard enough. This is the truth. That kit, in its original configuration, is just terrible. The Chaplain sits on the bike with his tippy toes on the footwell. He looks like your kid brother trying to pedal your Huffy without having the seat lowered. The best bit in the kit is indeed the front faring. It's got a nice skull between the bolters and two small headlamps. You do have to watch for warping of that bit when placing it on the handlebars, as sometimes when cast pewter cools, it will shrink or warp slightly. It results in the need to gently bend the faring back to straight for a nice, even fit against the handlebar notches. fivepointedstar
I have two. Because at one time that's all there was for bike characters. But like Shiny Rhino said it looked ridiculous due to the tippy toes, and the no helmet tiny bald head. Hymirl
That model is more useful for jump pack conversion as his tippy toe pose makes more sense. I have one lurking in the bits box actually... I'd suggest acquiring a bike from the DV starter set as the basis for a chaplain conversion, the front fairing is ideal. A chop at the waist on marines works pretty well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267998-chaplain-on-bike-model/#findComment-3264441 Share on other sites
Marine Errant
I must admit that I am very fond of my chappie on his bike. I don't use him that often but when I do he always takes a place of honour in the ranks ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/267998-chaplain-on-bike-model/#findComment-3264668 Share on other sites
lhg033
i have this somewhere - annoyed me at the time that its almost the same chaplain as one of the on foot ones. mine came form ebay and is still waiting some attention (removing copius amounts of super glue and being rebuilt/converted) i hope they release a plastic or finecast character pack for bikers at somepoint along the lines of the sternguard pack (ok maybe a bit more diverse/better casts etc) - possibly along side the DA release.
