Help! I need a Legion support!

Recommended Posts

I need help picking a Legion for a upcoming diorama I am planning to build, now it is crucial for me since I would like to know an dhaving everything planned out, but I personally love to many characters and traits of certain Legions to even make a proper choice so I ask you guys to help me.

Here are some of my traits (if this even helps at all): relentless, reserved, calm and close combat or sometimes depending on situation mid range oriented

Many times I have looked at the Night Lords, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, imperial Fists and Alpha Legion all of these Legions are awesome and I just can't make up my mind which one would be best and if I may add not used the most (as in displayed or created more often like the Ultramarines). So any swift answers or advice would be most appreciated since I am a littl e desperate

you can have a small force of imperial fists and blood angels defending a tower on terra agianst a larger force of cultists and a few "hidden" alphas and nightlords. like alphas infiltrating as lojalist and nightlords watching from the shadows.
As Beef said - the trait really are Imperial Fists to a tee - however Night Lords and Alpha Legion when done right bowl them over for dioramas, a heroic last stand scene would work perfectly with Imp. Fists though and still give plenty for people to look at ;)

Imperial Fists versus Night Lords in some fashion would give you a nice contrast in colours and also ideologies.

For example 2 or 3 Imp Fists defending a position against NL raptors, maybe one taking the landing impact of a raptors foot talons on his storm shield whilst another plucks one out of the sky midjump with a missile/bolter shot?

Just food for thought ;)

Thank you everyone for your replies so far, I believe either Night Lords, Imperial Fists or even Alpha Legion would be a nice choice.

Night Lords or Imperial Fists appeal to me the most right now, I like the Night Lords for their armour and history. But the Imperial Fists are more like me, and so I wouldn't mind doing them either. If I go with Night Lords I would do the Atramentar with Jago Sevatarion "Sevatar", theoretically if I take them what armour would you guys think would suit them best for pre heresy? I mean Mk II, III, IV?

If I take IF I would know where to start, but I have seen many threads so far with them that I just want to change the tide for the heretics now.

So it will most likely be Night Lords, thank you everyone who has replied so far. Now I just need to know what Mk armour type I need for the troops. Replies would be helpful before I start ordering the items in, cheers!

Since the new armour sets were released and even before then with the old artwork - I've always seen the Atramentar in Cataphractii armour, it suits their hulking demeanour and fixed ways - after all, if you don't agree they'll simply crush you like every other worm...

I think in contrast to this if you had the Imperial Fists (if you do them as well) in relatively normal MK II-III armour, this will (in my mind at least) give a decent size refference with the hulking atramentar and comparitively diminutive marines.

But what is good looking for the normal Night Lords, not the Atramentar? I would like to know cause I might just make an army of them and Sevatar of course doesn't wear Terminator armour so I might as well know anyways. Just what you guys would think for instance Mk IV, Mk III, Mk II or even Mk V since I am not that informed on their ways of armour specifications like this.

thanks RussBrother 92 you did really help me on the Atramentar part at least, cheers!

Mark 4 would look the coolest if you intend to have several jump packing units, look similar to the warp talon ones so I judge they would look cool!

Night Lords feel more correct in Mk IV imo, but MK III is more menacing looking. Probably a mix of Mk III and Mk IV would be best. Covers a nice stretch of game history since you didn't say what period the diorama is set in, and you get the both looks.
Well the diorama will be pre heresy so it will most definitly be all the Great Crusade goodies. So Mk IV and Mk III...that sounds good to me. I will place my order in for them then and I will make a seperate thread for them once they come in and I start to paint them. Thanks mate for your awesome support if you guys have any suggestions for the diorama then let me know cause I might add that to it, since I'm all ears, cheers mates for your help!
