Jolemai
Currently in the process of reconditioning many of my older models and I'm looking for inspiration about what to put on the base. My previous bases are the classic second edition style... How are you currently doing yours for your BA army?
Xenith
Mine are armageddon sandy waste: GW old mixed size sand/gravel, spray black, scorced brown, drybrush snakebite, then bleached bone.

darth_giles
I was working on some rocky bases using smashed plaster castings from a Woodland Scenics rock mold, but I've recently been working on using a "shattered pavement" style that I saw on a Dark Eldar board. Sculpey is a lot less threatening to my sinuses than casting plaster. Edit: Here's my guide: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=251653
Nicodemus Doloroso
I'm using Army Painter's Battlefields Sci Fi starter pack for my bases. Unfortunately it's out of print, but it is a nice mixture of grey gravel, brown flock, and dark green static grass. Here's an example: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bQkXeZDzGnQ/ULBBsSt3SBI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/rGhWTKewOLw/s1600/Nicodemus%201.jpg
Ushtarador
I put on some sand with small pebbles I bought in a model store 15 years ago or something, ink it with Aggrax Earthshade, then highlight with some browns, and finally some GW Mortheim grass as vegetation B) http://s14.directupload.net/images/121113/2by7lvbe.jpg

Chaplain Admetus
Urban style. Modelling sand/rocks, painted grey, then drybrushed with 2 lighter shades of grey. All 5 of my armies have/will have different bases (Tau have grass/wasteland, Bretonnia have standard fantasy field type terrain, Tomb Kings have desert, and the Dark Eldar I'm starting are going to be snow-based). I find that the grey helps to offset the black/red of my angels. @Ushtarador, those look pretty sweet dude (models as well as bases)... any chance of some close-ups? moric
I am making mine on lava bases to add something of a demon world like signus prime (I like to think o' me angels as signus prime veterans). I wasn't happy with what was available for basing so i started casting my own out of resin 3 months ago and right now almost everyone here has ordered bases from me  photos will be available shortly
